| As China’s ageing process continues to accelerate,the number of elderly people and senior citizens is increasing,placing a heavier burden on society and families.With the changing social structure and weakening of the family,the development of institutional care has been limited in many ways by traditional attitudes and high costs,and integrated care is becoming one of the effective means of responding to the needs of a large ageing population and achieving healthy ageing.This paper will attempt to analyse the structure and current situation of the supply and demand of family care resources and community care services in China from the perspective of the concept of integrated care,and explore the mental health effects of community care services and family care on the elderly,in the hope of providing valuable references for the policy design of family and social care service provision.The main part of this paper consists of a descriptive analysis of the current situation and an empirical analysis.The current situation analysis part:(1)What are the challenges facing home care in China and what are the changing trends in the structure of home care for the elderly;(2)What is the structure of supply and demand for community-based home care services and how is the demand being met.The empirical analysis component includes the impact of home care and communitybased home care services on depression and life satisfaction among older people and an analysis of the differences between different groupsThe study found that:(1)Family care is still the predominant form of care for older people in China,but the structure has changed from one in which children are the primary caregivers to one in which spouses are the primary caregivers.(2)Unbalanced supply and demand for community-based elderly care services,with a wide gap between supply and demand levels.(3)Home care and community-based home care services have a positive impact on the mental health of older people.(4)The positive impact of home care and community-based basic elderly care services on life satisfaction increases with the change of generations.Based on the above,this paper makes the following recommendations:First:Building an embedded community care system to assist family care.Second: Increase the supply and quality of provision of community-based home care services.Third,policy formulation and service provision should ideally take into account differences in elderly groups.Fourth: Pay attention to the disadvantaged groups and enhance the universality of the system. |
