Objective: Through the retrospective analysis of the clinical medical records of patients with pulmonary thromboembolism and the follow-up of prognosis, the clinical characteristics,TCM syndrome distribution and prognosis of patients with pulmonary thromboembolism were summarized. Methods: Retrospective collection of 300 patients diagnosed with pulmonary thromboembolism admitted to the Fourth Affiliated Clinical Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2018 to December 2021.General information of patients, comorbidities and predisposing factors, clinical symptoms and signs, auxiliary examination results, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome types, treatment, and prognosis(death, recurrence, bleeding)within 3 months and 1 year after discharge were collected, summarized, and statistically analyzed.Results:(1)The most common symptoms of 1)PTE patients are chest tightness(83%),followed by shortness of breath(79.66%),cough and expectoration(63.99%),palpitation/palpitation(54.66%)and chest pain(39%),among which the triad(dyspnea, chest pain and hemoptysis)is only1.6%.(2)Plasma D-polymer: 272 cases were positive and 28 cases were negative.(3)Distribution law of TCM syndrome types and comparison among them: TCM syndrome types are mainly divided into five categories: phlegm and blood stasis syndrome 34%,qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome 26%,qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome 18%,phlegm stagnation and lung stagnation syndrome 13%,heart blood stasis syndrome 6%,and other 3%(4)Prognosis: Within 3 months, there were 31 cases of bleeding,7 cases of recurrence and 10 cases of death. From March to 1 year, there were 20 cases of bleeding,28 cases of recurrence and 22 cases of death.Conclusion:(1)The clinical manifestations of PTE are not specific. For patients with chest tightness, shortness of breath, dyspnea, swelling and pain of lower limbs and other symptoms of unknown reasons, especially when TVD occurs, relevant examinations should be improved as soon as possible to determine whether PTE occurs,so as to prevent misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis.(2)The negative plasma D-dimmer can’t rule out the occurrence of PTE,and it still needs to be comprehensively evaluated in combination with patients’ symptoms, signs and other related tests.(3)TCM syndrome types are mainly phlegm and blood stasis syndrome, followed by qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome,qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome, phlegm stagnation syndrome and heart blood stasis syndrome, which provides theoretical basis for unifying TCM syndrome differentiation and applying the principle of removing blood stasis to treat pulmonary thromboembolism in the future.(4)Older age and malignant tumor are independent risk factors for the prognosis of PTE patients.
