Objective:To observe the feasibility, effectiveness, and safety of floating needle therapy combined with Guizhi and Gegen decoction in the treatment of atlanto occipital fascia contracture syndrome, and to provide a new idea for its traditional Chinese medicine treatment. Methods:This study selected a total of 64 patients with Atlantooccipital Fascia Contracture Syndrome who were diagnosed and treated in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2021 to December 2022 and met the diagnostic criteria for this study. The sample size was randomly divided into two groups, with 32 patients in the treatment group and 32 patients in the control group.Based on the comparison of the therapeutic effects between floating needle therapy combined with Guizhi Jiage Gen Tang and the current clinical treatment methods, the specific therapeutic effect and clinical value of this therapy were determined. The treatment group was given floating needle scanning method combined with reperfusion activity combined with Guizhi Jiage Gen Tang, while the control group was given traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture therapy combined with Guizhi Jiage Gen Tang at relevant acupoints. The first course of treatment in this study was 14 days, with a study period of 2 weeks. The overall efficacy of the two groups of patients before and after treatment was observed, and the cervical dysfunction index score(NDI scale)and Mc Gill pain questionnaire score(SF-MPQ)were compared and analyzed.Result:1.This study included 64 cases of statistical analysis, including 4 cases of dropout. The 60 patients actually participated in the study did not have adverse reactions during the treatment period. The general data(gender, age, and course of disease)of the two groups of patients before treatment were statistically analyzed,P>0.05.The difference was not statistically significant and was comparable.2.Cervical Dysfunction Index Score: After treatment, both the treatment group and the control group showed a statistically significant decrease in NDI scale scores(P<0.05).After treatment, the decrease in NDI score in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Mc Gill pain quantification score: After treatment,SF-MPQ(PPI,VAS,PRI)scores in both treatment group and control group were decreased, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the score of treatment group was more significantly decreased than control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Clinical efficacy: In the treatment group,11 patients were significantly effective,15 were effective,2 were relieved, and 2 were ineffective. The total effective rate was 93.33%;In the control group,4 patients showed significant effect,9 were effective,9 were relieved, and 8 were ineffective. The total effective rate was 73.33%.5.Follow up: One month after treatment, the recurrence rate in the treatment group was 6.7%,while the recurrence rate in the control group was 23.3%.Conclusion:1.Floating needle therapy combined with Guizhi and Gegen Decoction can effectively improve the pain and other related symptoms of patients with atlanto occipital fascia contracture syndrome.2.The overall efficacy of the treatment group is better than that of the control group.3.Floating needle therapy combined with Guizhi and Gegen Decoction in the treatment of atlanto occipital fascia contracture syndrome has the advantages of safety, convenience, and efficiency, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
