Objective:To observe the clinical effect of “liuhe acupoint” under the theory of Twelve branches of meridians on cervical insomnia.Methods:Sixty-four cases of cervicogenic patients were chosen for this research, and 3 cases were shed, with a total of 61 patients completing the project,with30 cases in the treatment arm and 31 cases in the control arm.In the control group, acupoints Shenmen,Sanyinjiao,Baihui,Anmian,Zhaohai,Shenmai,Jingjiaji,Houxi were intervened by simple common acupuncture, and and the needle was maintained for 30 min once daily after Qi arrival. In the treatment group, acupuncture was performed on the basis of the control group at the "liuhe acupoint " of Tianyou,Tianchuang,Tianrong,Tianzhu,Renying, and Futu, and the needles were not left in place once a day after obtaining Qi.Subjects in both groups were treated 6 times per week for 3 weeks.Patients were rated by the Neck Pain Scale(NPQ)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),the Insomnia Severity Index Scale(ISI),and the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)before and after three weeks of treatment, respectively, and the collected data were analyzed statistically by SPSS 26.0 statistical software. Results:Three of the 64 patients included in this project were dislodged and 61 were closed, including 30 in the treatment group and 31 in the control group, and finally the data were analysed for the remaining 61 patients.1.before the patients received treatment, the differences between the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05)in terms of gender, disease duration, age, and PSQI scores,ISI scores,NPQ scores, and VAS scores, and the two groups were balanced and comparable before treatment.2.Three weeks after treatment, there were statistically significant differences in PSQI score,NPQ score, and VAS score between the treatment and control groups(P<0.05);among them, there was a statistically significant difference in subjective sleep quality, sleep efficiency, and sleep disturbance between the two groups in each of the item-level PSQI score scores(P<0.05),while the remaining items were not statistically different(P>0.05),but compared with before treatment, the average scores of all items decreased. In terms of insomnia severity index scale(ISI),there were no differences between the two groups after 3 weeks of treatment(P>0.05),and each group’s scores decreased compared to pre-treatment scores.3.The cure rate in the treatment arm was 13.3% in terms of overall clinical effectiveness, with a 40.0% apparent efficacy and efficacy rate and a6.7% ineffectiveness rate.In the control group, the healing rate was 0.0%,the apparent rate was 29.0%,the effective rate was 51.6%,and the ineffectiveness rate was 19.4%.In the treatment group, the total effective rate and cure rate were 93.33% and 53.33%,respectively;in the control group, the total effective rate and cure rate rose to 80.65% and 29.03%,respectively.There was a statistically significant difference in the efficacy comparison between the two groups.(Z=-2.35,P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupuncture at "Liuhe" acupoint of Twelve divergent meridians and simple acupuncture have clinical effects on insomnia and neck discomfort in patients with cervical insomnia, with significant differences between the two groups.2.Acupuncture treatment focusing on "Liuhe" acupoint of Twelve divergent meridians is superior to simple acupuncture in Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Northwick park neck pain scale(NPQ)and visual analogue scale(VAS),but there is little difference in the score of insomnia severity index(ISI)between the two groups.
