Historical Concise Studies On Smilax Glabra Roxb

This study takes the traditional plant medicine "Tufuling" as the research sample,consults the relevant pharmacopoeia and medical classics of the past dynasties,and makes historical verification and sorting out of various aspects of Tufuling,such as its name,origin,processing,nature and flavor,meridian tropism,efficacy,etc.,to confirm the scientific connotation of the previous understanding.At the same time,this paper summarizes the efficacy,indications and applications of Tufuling in China’s past dynasties,and discovers the evolution process of Tufuling from food to medicine,as well as its unique role in treating diseases caused by damp-heat and toxic pathogens,such as yangmei sore,syphilis,gout,etc.Furthermore,this paper introduces the application history of Tufuling in the West,as well as the research progress of Tufuling in terms of chemical composition,pharmacological activity,clinical application,etc.Finally,this paper discusses the mechanism of disease treatment,contraindications,medicinal characteristics,disease spectrum and syndrome spectrum of Tufuling,and looks forward to its application prospects.This paper aims to comprehensively analyze the application history of Tufuling in ancient and modern times,and provide scientific clues for further development and application.
