As a new psychotherapy technique, mindfulness intervention has attracted much attention. The purpose of this study is to explore the theoretical basis of localization of mindfulness intervention through in-depth analysis of its theoretical origin and theoretical rationality.First,a comprehensive review of the theoretical purpose of mindfulness intervention, mindfulness is the awareness produced by focusing on the goal in the present moment and paying attention to the unfolding of experience from moment to moment without judgment. As far as the direct source of its theory is concerned, mindfulness is derived from Theravada Buddhism’s thoughts of living and four thoughts. The four thoughts require the observation of the body, receiving, mind,Fa four different levels of goals, diligent, correct knowledge, with thoughts,to regulate the world of greed and worry.Compared with the mindfulness technique, the four thoughts place more emphasis on the practitioner’s proactive attitude, observing the physical and mental experiences truthfully, and avoiding strong negative mental experiences such as craving and pain. After years of development,a variety of mindfulness intervention methods have emerged: Mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy, dialectical behavior therapy,mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, which are all different mental models and intervention methods proposed on the basis of mindfulness technology. In terms of its technology, mindfulness is often considered to be a form of meditation whose neural mechanisms can initially explain the principles and neurophysiological basis of the therapeutic effects of mindfulness interventions. Some scholars have criticized the limitations of traditional mindfulness interventions, mainly arguing that mindfulness interventions have abandoned the theoretical basis and practice system of Buddhism, resulting in a weak theoretical foundation and incomplete training system. They advocate the adoption of a more complete theoretical system of Buddhism and more methods of practice, which is called the second generation of mindfulness intervention.Based on this point of view, this paper summarizes the theories and methods of early Buddhism in order to respond to the theoretical doubts about mindfulness intervention and to sort out its rationality.Early Buddhism considered suffering as a kind of disease, explored its etiology, pathogenesis and treatment, and put forward the theoretical system of the four Noble Truths. In terms of practice methods, the seven branches of consciousness run through the whole Buddhist practice, and the four thoughts are the first step of the seven branches of consciousness.Mindfulness intervention and Buddhism have a specific cultural background and philosophical presupposition,so this paper intends to incorporate mindfulness intervention into the Chinese cultural background and the theoretical framework of TCM psychology.First,it introduces some important issues of traditional Chinese philosophy, the presuppositions of Western philosophy and some surviving Indian philosophy to replace mindfulness intervention;Secondly,it summarizes the understanding of psychological phenomena in TCM,and uses the concept of TCM psychology to clarify what is mindfulness intervention; Finally, the paper compares and analyzes the feasibility of traditional philosophy and TCM psychology as the theoretical basis of mindfulness intervention.Based on the four levels of form,qi,spirit and vacuity, this paper tries to put forward a crude framework for the localization of mindfulness intervention, aiming at broadening the theoretical field of TCM psychology and contributing to the development of the discipline. |
