| Objective: To evaluate the value of serum globulin in combination with other inflammatory markers in the evaluation of disease activity in ulcerative colitis(UC),and to build a risk-predictive model. Methods: We selected 704 patients with ulcerative colitis treated at our hospital among January 2016 to December 2021,contrasting the active UC group(n=434)versus the inactive UC group(n=270),exploring independent risk factors for ulcerative colitis activity by univariate analysis and multifactorial logistic regression analysis, establishing a risk prediction model and constructing a nomogram. Results:Among the 704 UC patients included in this study,471 were in the modeling group that was validated in 233 cases, and all indexes were not statistically different between the two groups(P>0.05);multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the values of serum globulin(SG),C-reactive protein(CRP),Erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)appeared to be independent risk factors for the incidence of UC activity. To assess the discrimination of the prediction model,Areas under curve(AUC)of the Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)of the two groups were measured separately to evaluate the discrimination of the prediction model, and the AUC value of the modeling group was 0.940(95% CI 0.916,0.965),and the modeling group The AUC value was 0.947(95% CI 0.922,0.972),and this model ROC curve analysis showed a cut-off value of 0.576 at a sensitivity of 93.3%,specificity was 81.9%,and accuracy was 86.7%.Conclusion: Serum globulin has outstanding performance in the assessment of UC disease activity and improves the diagnostic efficacy when combined with commonly used inflammatory indicators such as CRP,ESR and NLR. |
