Objective: To retrospectively analyze the clinical characteristics and pathological types of central nervous system tumors(CNS)in the Tibetan population in the People’s Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region, using the cases admitted to the Department of Neurosurgery from 2013 to 2021 as a sample;to lay the foundation and provide data basis for future studies on CNS-related tumors in the Tibetan population in Tibet Autonomous Region.Different plans and pricesMethods: The data of 364 CNS tumors collected from the People’s Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region were retrospectively analyzed, including tumor type,high-grade and low-grade tumor composition ratio, age composition and gender ratio of CNS tumors, tumor site composition and clinical characteristics. Results: The admission rate of CNS tumors in the People’s Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region increased year by year.Among the cases admitted to the neurosurgery department of the People’s Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region,40.66%were meningiomas,19.5% were neuroepithelial tissue tumors,19% were pituitary gland tumors,9.9% were brain nerve and spinal nerve root tumors,3.8% were craniopharyngiomas, and 3% were metastatic tumors. The ratio of male to female CNS tumors was 1:1.31;among them, neuroepithelial tissue tumors, pituitary gland tumors and metastatic tumors were more common in males,1.36 times,1.16 times and 2.67 times more common in males than females, respectively.Meningioma and craniopharyngioma were more common in females,2.26 and 1.8 times more common than males, respectively.CNS tumors can be seen at any age,and different tumors exist in different age groups of predilection.Medulloblastoma is more common in0-14 years old;choroid plexus tumor is more common in 0-14 years old;40-64 years old;hemangioblastoma, mainly in 20-39 years old;neuroepithelial tissue tumor, meningioma, cranial nerve and spinal nerve root tumor, craniopharyngioma, pituitary gland tumor lesions are more common in 40-64 years old;low-grade tumor accounts for 313/364,85.99%;high-grade tumor accounts for 51/364,14.01%;the results suggest that low-grade tumors were predominant in all age groups.Low-grade tumors were more common in women, and high-grade tumors were more common in men.Tumors of the central nervous system were mainly seen in supratentorial tumors(70.6%);infratentorial tumors(19.5%);intravertebral tumors(9.9%),among which meningiomas(58.99%),gliomas of neuroepithelial tissue(32.37%),metastases(6.47%)tumors of cerebral nerves and spinal nerve roots(1.44%),and lymphomas(0.72%)were more common in the cerebral hemisphere;Tumors in the pterygoid area were mainly pituitary tumors(69.69%),meningeal tumors(16.17%),craniopharyngiomas(13.13%),and neuroepithelial tissue tumors(1.01%);neuroepithelial tissue tumors(71.43%)and craniopharyngiomas(14.28%)were most common in the three ventricles;neuroepithelial tissue tumors(50%)and meningiomas(40%)were most common in the lateral ventricles In the cerebellar hemisphere,meningiomas(80%),metastatic tumors(10%),and neuroepithelial tissues tumors(5%)were common;in the cerebellar earth,meningiomas(63.64%)and neuroepithelial tissues tumors(36.36%)were common;in the pontocerebellar horn, tumors of cerebral nerves and spinal nerve roots(50%)and neuroepithelial tissues tumors(8.33%)were common;extramedullary Intramedullary tumors are mainly ventricular meningioma(5.56%)and hairy cell astrocytoma(5.56%),and chordoma(47.22%)and nerve sheath tumor(41.67%)are common.Central nervous system tumors were mainly manifested as headache in 206 cases(56.59%),visual impairment in 53 cases(14.56%),paralysis in 30 cases(8.24%),epilepsy in 29 cases(7.97%),and hearing loss in 16 cases(4.39%).Headache(66.18%)and epilepsy(14.39%)were the most common tumors in the cerebral hemispheres, and headache(51.52%)and vision loss(43.43%)were the most common tumors in the pterygoid area.Headache(44.44%)and hearing loss(33.33%)were more common in pontocerebellar horn tumors;paralysis(30.56%)and sensory impairment(27.78%)were more common in intravertebral canal tumors. Conclusion: For central nervous system tumors in Tibetan population in Tibetan area, understanding and mastering the characteristics of age, gender, prevalent sites and clinical manifestations of various tumors can help the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of central nervous system tumors.
