Objective:To observe the pathological features of lacrimal gland mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma and the expression and significance of BCL10 and MALT1 in this disease.Methods:Patients diagnosed with lacrimal MALT lymphoma in the Third Medical Center of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army from 2004 to 2021 were collected as the experimental group,and normal tear gland patients who underwent orbital contents removal due to other diseases from 2014 to 2018 were included as the control group,19 cases with 19 eyes(9 cases in the right eye and 10 cases in the left eye)were included in the experimental group,and 8 cases with 8 eyes(3 cases in the right eye and 5 cases in the left eye)were included in the control group.Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to observe the tissue morphological characteristics of the experimental group and the control group.Immunohistochemical staining observed the expression of BCL10 and MALT1 in both groups.Results:1.Hematoxylin-eosin staining result:Compared with the control group,the experimental group had pathological changes in the infiltration of marginal B-cells,monocytes-like,small lymphocyte-like and plasma cell tumor cells,acquired lymphatic follicles and scattered distribution of large cells.In the control group,the lacrimal gland showed the distribution of acinar and ducts,among which a small number of plasma cells,lymphocytes and blood vessels scattered in the distribution could be seen.2.Immunohistochemical staining results:In the experimental group,clear light yellow to brownish yellow granules were positive for BCL10 staining,mainly expressed in the cytoplasm and nucleus of tumor cells,and the expression was [129677.400(361295.80)] pixels/HP.group,showed weak cytoplasmic expression of epithelial cells,the expression was [6342.80(33298.55)] pixels/HP,and the expression in the experimental group increased,with statistical difference(P<0.05).The MALT1 staining judgment standard in the experimental group was the same as BCL10,mainly expressed in the nucleus and cytoplasm expression of tumor cells,expressed as(539283.705±258717.928)pixels/HP,the staining judgment standard in the control group was the same as that of the experimental group,mainly expressed in glandular epithelial cells,cytosolic expression,MALT1 expression was(211588.800±184167.233)pixels/HP,and the expression in the experimental group was increased,there were statistical differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Lacrimal MALT lymphoma has pathological changes in marginal B-cell,monocytes-like,small lymphocyte-like and plasmacytoid tumor cell infiltration,acquired lymphoid follicles and scattered distribution of large cells,which may be related to the blockade of apoptosis due to upregulation of BCL10 and MALT1 expression.
