| Objective:To develop a coping style scale for HIV/AIDS patients and test the reliability and validity of HIV/AIDS coping style scale,so as to provide an effective tool for measuring coping style of HIV/AIDS patients. Methods:This study completed the theoretical construction of coping style of HIV/AIDS patients by referring to relevant literature on coping style theory and coping style related questionnaire or scale. Then semi-structured interview, expert consultation and group discussion were conducted to form an item pool of HIV/AIDS coping styles. The importance of items in the item pool was evaluated through two rounds of expert consultation, and the initial scale of coping style of HIV/AIDS patients was finally formed. The preliminary scale was tested by small sample pre-investigation,and the items were deleted and modified to form the preliminary scale by item analysis.323 HIV/AIDS patients were selected by convenient sampling for formal investigation.Item analysis adopts critical ratio method, correlation coefficient analysis method and variation coefficient method.Internal consistency reliability,split-half reliability and test-retest reliability were used for reliability analysis.Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used for validity analysis. In exploratory factor analysis, principal component analysis was used to extract factors with characteristic values greater than one.Maximum variance method was used for rotation, and Mplus was used to verify the model. Results:The HIV/AIDS coping style scale consisted of 7 dimensions and 34 items, which were named as regret, seeking help, depression, venting, optimism, social isolation and improving physical fitness.Cronbach’s coefficient of the total amount table was 0.94,the split-half reliability was 0.81,and the test-retest reliability was 0.93.Cronbach’s coefficient of regret dimension was 0.83,split-half reliability was 0.83,test-retest reliability was 0.82.The Cronbach’s coefficient of help-seeking dimension was 0.84,the split-half reliability was 0.83,and the test-retest reliability was 0.87.The Cronbach’s coefficient of low mood was 0.88,the split-half reliability was 0.89,and the test-retest reliability was 0.82.The Cronbach’s coefficient of venting emotion dimension was 0.86,split-half reliability was 0.84,and the test-retest reliability was 0.85.Cronbach’s coefficient of optimistic face dimension was 0.89,split-half reliability was 0.90,and the test-retest reliability was 0.84.The Cronbach’s coefficient of social isolation dimension was 0.87,the split-half reliability was 0.82,and the test-retest reliability was 0.86.Cronbach’s coefficient of improving physical fitness was 0.89,the split-half reliability was 0.91,and the test-retest reliability was 0.89.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the questionnaire had good structural validity(X~2/df=1.64,RMSEA=0.044,CFI=0.95,TLI=0.94,SRMR=0.045).The correlation analysis with the medical coping style questionnaire showed that it had good criterion correlation validity. Conclusion:The HIV/AIDS coping style scale has good reliability and validity, and can be used as an evaluation tool for the study of coping styles of AIDS patients. |
