Purpose:To explore the influence of elastic band resistance training on the cardiac function of elderly patients with chronic heart failure, and to provide new ideas and ways for the elderly patients with chronic heart failure to choose appropriate exercise methods.Method:In this study,72 patients in the elderly cadre ward of a third-grade Grade-A hospital in Jiangxi Province who met the enrollment conditions were selected, and the subjects were divided into control group and experimental group with 36 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment and nursing, and the experimental group was given resistance training with elastic band on the basis of the control group, three times a week for 8 weeks. After the trial, the cardiac function of the two groups was evaluated by cardiac function grading(NYHA),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)and 6-minute walking test(6MWT)before,4weeks and 8 weeks after training.Results:1.Comparison of general data: There were no significant differences in age, sex, body mass index, marital status, place of residence, course of disease, smoking history, drinking history, education level, underlying diseases, cardiac function grade, left ventricular ejection fraction and 6-minute walking distance between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating comparability.2.Comparison of left ventricular ejection fraction between the two groups:Before intervention, there was no significant difference in LVEF values between the control group and the experimental group(P>0.05);After 4 and 8 weeks of intervention, the LVEF value of the control group and the experimental group was significantly increased, and the LVEF value of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group at the same time point, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Comparison of 6-minute walking distance between the two groups: Before intervention, there was no significant difference in the 6MWT value between the control group and the experimental group(P>0.05);After 4 and 8 weeks of intervention, the 6MWT value of control group and experimental group was significantly increased, and the 6MWT value of experimental group was higher than that of control group at the same time point, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Comparison of cardiac function grading between the two groups: Before intervention and 4 weeks after intervention,NYHA grading between the control group and the experimental group had no statistical significance(P>0.05);After 8weeks of intervention,NYHA grading of both control group and experimental group decreased, and NYHA grading of experimental group was significantly higher than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Resistance training with elastic band not only improves the 6-minute walking distance and left ventricular ejection fraction of elderly patients with chronic heart failure, but also improves the cardiac function grading level of patients, which is worthy of clinical application.2.As a popular type of resistance training that allows individuals to exercise in a controlled and safe manner through repetitive movements, elastic bands can be an adjunct to the treatment of elderly patients with chronic heart failure.
