Objective: To study the curative effect of Hong Bai Xiao kui Decoction enema combined with mesalazine in the treatment of mild and medium ulcerative colitis(UC),and to summarize and discuss the serum inflammatory factors, symptom improvement and recurrence rate half a year later. Methods: According to the inclusion criteria,a total of 68 patients with large intestine damp-heat ulcerative colitis were included in the study by clinical randomized parallel control method, and were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. The former received mesalazine oral intervention, and the latter received self-prepared Hong Bai Xiao Kui decoction enema on the basis of the former intervention. The course of treatment in the active stage was 4 weeks, and the follow-up in the remission stage was 6 months.Erythrocyte sedimentation rate,C-reactive protein,procalcitonin,interleukin-6(ESR,CRP,PCT,IL-6)indexes,Mayo,TCM symptom score and recurrence rate half a year later were observed in 2 groups before and after treatment, and statistical analysis was conducted.Results:1.A total of 68 cases were included in this study,of which 61 were completed, and the shedding rate in this study was 10%.2.There were no significant differences in the baseline data of age, gender and course of disease between the two groups(P > 0.05).3.There was no statistically significant difference in Mayo scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),and after treatment,Mayo scores of the two groups were lower than before, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The improvement of Mayo in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The total effective rate was 70% in the control group and 94% in the treatment group, and the latter was significantly better than the former(P<0.05).4.There were no statistically significant differences in ESR,CRP,PCT and IL-6between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After the above treatment, blood ESR,CRP,PCT and IL-6 indexes in the two groups were improved, and compared with before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The treatment group was better than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.The total effective rate of TCM syndroms in the control group was 67%,and that in the treatment group was 96%,the latter was significantly better than the former(P<0.01),and there was no statistical significance in the single scores of TCM syndroms in each group before treatment(P>0.05),while the single scores of TCM syndroms in the two groups decreased after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The improvement of TCM symptoms in the treatment group was better than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).6.The recurrence rate after half a year was 43% in the control group and 10% in the treatment group. The treatment group was better than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion:Hong Bai Xiao Kui Decoction enema combined with oral mesalazine and oral mesalazine alone are effective in the treatment of mild and moderate UC,but Hong Bai Xiao Kui decoction enema combined with oral mesalazine is better than oral mesalazine in improving patients’ symptoms, reducing blood inflammatory factor indicators, recurrence rate and curative effect, which can be used to optimize UC treatment plan clinically.
