Objective:In order to provide evidence-based medical evidence for exploring significance of anti SSA/Ro antibodies,a clinical retrospective observational study was performed to evaluate diseases spectrum and clinical characteristics of patients with anti-SSA/Ro antibodies, which aims to help rheumatic immunologists better understand the clinical significance of anti SSA/Ro antibodies. Methods:The clinical data of 1596 inpatients with anti-Ro antibodies were included.According to the profile of anti-Ro52/Ro60 antibodies, they were divided into three groups.Combined with the clinical data, the differences between the three groups were statistically analyzed. Results:Of the 1596 patients,1362(85.3%)were female with a median age of 45.5 ± 16.5 years.Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)(46.0%)and primary Sjogren’s syndrome(p SS)(19.0%)were the most common diagnoses.256 patients(16.0%)were diagnosed with non-autoimmune diseases, mainly chronic diseases(25.8%)and malignancies(24.6%).Among the patients with isolated anti-Ro52 antibody, idiopathic inflammatory myopathy(18.8%)and SLE(17.6%)were the most common diagnoses. The combined autoantibodies of this group were significantly lower than other groups, but the presence of anti-Jo1 antibodies were significantly higher than the other two groups(4.0%vs.0.6% vs.2.0%,P = 0.016).Besides,patients with isolated anti-Ro52 antibody had more interstitial lung disease than the other two groups(35.5%vs.11.3% vs.13.7%,P < 0.0001);The renal and hematological system involvements of this group was significantly less than that of the other two groups(P < 0.0001).The most common diagnosis of an-Ro60 positive patients was SLE(47.6%),followed by undifferentiated connective tissue disease(15.7%)and PSS(12.9%),often involving musculoskeletal system(62.5%),mucocutaneous(45.1%),characterized by rash(35.9%)and arthralgia(58.0%).Moreover,compare to patients with isolated anti-Ro52 or anti-Ro60,patients with both antiRo52 and anti-Ro60 were more likely to suffer from xerophthalmia and xerostomia, especially in patients with SS.In addition, hypocomplementemia, hyperglobulinemia and proteinuria were particularly prevalent in patients with presence of anti-Ro60 antibodies.Conclusion:Anti-Ro52 and anti-Ro60 antibodies are interrelated but independent autoimmune antibodies. The disease distribution and clinical features are similar and different in the different positive combinations. The anti-Ro antibodies also have different clinical significance in different connective tissue diseases.
