Research background:At the present stage, under the background of the gradual deepening of China’s higher education system reform and national defense and military reform, with the convening of important conferences such as the National Undergraduate Education Conference and the training of military presidents, the realization of the mission and task of our army in the new era is inseparable from the strategy of invigorating the army with talents and strengthening the army through science and technology. The new situation also raises the requirements for the education and teaching level of military academies and the learning quality of military cadets.Military medical university students with cadets and double attribute of the medical students, due to the particularity of medical professional and military colleges, they should not only face a daunting the military training, again want to face heavy difficult medical professional course study, makes the cadets study effect is not ideal, and the psychological condition. Therefore, how to effectively improve the learning effect of college students has become an urgent problem for teaching administrators at all levels, and has also become an important topic of concern for higher education researchers.Objects :Firstly, the purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between psychological factors such as resilience,self-control and anxiety and academic performance of military medical students.Secondly,on the basis of the above research,we used the method of mindfulness training to conduct intervention research on psychological factors and academic performance. Therefore,it provides theoretical basis and practical basis for military medical students to improve their academic performance.Research Methods:Firstly,120 male students(18.83±1.36 years old)in the second year of clinical medicine major of a military medical university were randomly selected and evaluated by using resilience scale,self-control scale and self-rating anxiety scale, and their academic performance was collected.Correlation analysis and regression analysis were used.To examine the relationship between resilience,self-control,anxiety levels, and academic performance.Second,120 were randomly divided into trial group and control group, experimental group for 8 weeks mindfulness training intervention, control group accepted psychological health knowledge lecture for eight weeks, using repetitive measure analysis of variance and later inspection,to examine mindfulness training for military medical students mental toughness,self-control,anxiety and learning intervention effect. Results:Firstly, this study found that there was a significant positive correlation between mental toughness and self-control ability and academic performance in the experimental group and the control group, the correlation coefficient was 0.207(P < 0.05)and 0.357(P< 0.05),respectively,and the correlation coefficient between anxiety and academic performance was-0.224(P > 0.05).Moreover,mental toughness and self-control ability could significantly predict academic performance, with partial regression coefficients of0.082(P=0.024)and 0.112(P=0.028),respectively.Secondly,after the intervention of mindfulness training, the mental toughness and self-control ability of the experimental group were significantly higher than before the intervention(F=15.616,P < 0.001),and the anxiety mood was significantly lower than before the intervention(F=8.845,P=0.004).In the control group, there was no significant difference in the level of mental toughness(F=0.284,P=0.596)and self-control ability(F=0.025,P=0.875)before and after intervention.Although anxiety was also improved,it still did not reach the significant level(F=3.829,P=0.055).The results of the test group’s learning performance before and after the mindfulness training also showed that the difference after the intervention was significantly higher than that before the intervention(F=5.101,P < 0.001).There was no significant difference between the control group and the control group(F=0.705,P=0.484).After the intervention, the results of the semi-structured interview for all the subjects in the experimental group showed that the subjective acceptance of mindfulness training in the experimental group was good.Research Conclusions:This study draws the following conclusions: firstly, mental toughness and self-control are important psychological factors affecting the academic performance of medical students in military academies;Second, mindfulness training can effectively improve the level of psychological toughness and self-control,improve the anxiety of military medical students, and effectively improve the academic performance of military medical students;Thirdly, mindfulness training is easy to operate, easy to popularize, and highly subjective to accept,so it is suitable to be promoted and carried out in various colleges and universities as group counseling training to improve the academic performance of medical students in military academies. |
