The Application Research For The Assessment In Illness Anxiety Of Patient Who Is Undergoing In Vitro Fertilization

Aims and objectives: This study examines the prevalence and gender differences in illness anxiety in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment,as well as its relationship with thyroid function,fertility stress,and psychological resilience;it also presents illness anxiety in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment through a health care perspective.This study has implications for guiding the exploration of biological predictors of illness anxiety,guiding the assessment and intervention of illness anxiety in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment,and developing a theory of illness anxiety.Methods: In this study,a relationship test and pathway analysis was performed on 340questionnaires(Fertility Problem Inventory,Resilient Trait Scale for Chinese Adults,and Whiteley Index)surveys from patients undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment and 107 blood samples of their thyroid stimulating hormone levels.Meanwhile,a thematic analysis was carried out in this study after semi-structured interviews with 15 health care professionals from the reproduction center.Results: An incidence rate of 44.1% of IA among infertile people undergoing IVF treatment in China was determined.The risk of severe IA in women was around twice of that in men(OR=2.01,95% CI: 1.01–4.01)while Women’s IA level was significantly associated with their TSH level(=0.27,p<0.01).The infertility impact on life domains fully mediated the relationship between parenthood importance and illness anxiety,and resilience moderate it.There are disease conviction(preconception,nosophobia and absolute evaluation),bodily preoccupation(bodily preconception,confusional preoccupation,bodily wakefulness and worry about pain),Obsessive illness rumination:1)Cognition(spiral retrospection and apprehensive prospection)and 2)behavior(ceaseless confirmation and negatory paradox),Concern for IVF treatment(doctor-patient relationship and Concerns for IVF technical)in illness anxiety of patient undergoing IVF.Conclusion: Illness anxiety is characterized by a high prevalence and gender differences in Chinese patients undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment.Meanwhile,illness anxiety in female patients was associated with thyroid function,and a mediating moderation model existed among illness anxiety,fertility stress and psychological resilience.Finally,from a health care perspective,illness anxiety in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment showed a coexistence of group characteristics and generality of illness anxiety.Application value: This study has the value of advancing the process of assessing patient mental health in reproductive centers;contributing to the interdisciplinary intersection as well as advancing theories,intervention strategies,and caregiving of illness anxiety,.Figure 3;Table 7;Reference 107...
