Clinical Observation Of Ganqixuanbi Decoction Combined With VTd Regimen For Multiple Myeloma

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and therapeutic value of Ganqixuanbi Decoction combined with VTd regimen in the treatment of multiple myeloma(MM)patients by comparing and observing the total therapeutic efficiency,the Chinese medicine symptom score,quality of life KPS score,and pain grade scores of VTd regimen and Ganqixuanbi Decoction combined with VTd regimen in the treatment of multiple myeloma(MM),in order to obtain the clinical benefit of its The objective scientific basis for the clinical benefit was obtained,and the objective advantages of combining Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of MM were explored.Methods:MM patients attending the outpatient clinic and ward of the Department of Hematology,Weifang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2021 to December 2022 were selected for this study,and a total of 60 patients with symptomatic(active)MM were enrolled after assessment for inclusion,exclusion,and exclusion criteria.The random number table method was used to divide them into two groups,the experimental group and the control group,with 30 cases in each group,and there was no statistical difference in the comparison of baseline information for clinical observation.Patients in the two groups were given Ganqixuanbi Decoction combined with VTd regimen(test group)and VTd regimen alone(control group)to carry out control treatment.All enrolled cases were treated with basic hematology and symptomatic support therapy,while monitoring body temperature,respiration,heart rate,blood pressure,and regular testing of blood routine,urine routine,stool routine,liver and kidney function,and electrocardiogram.In the course of treatment,if there is a serious drop in blood picture,which affects the safety of patients,component blood transfusion can be considered to ensure the smooth treatment.If severe bone pain occurs,bisphosphonates are given to relieve pain.If hypercalcemia occurs,adequate hydration,alkalinization of urine and diuresis may be given.The percentage of bone marrow monoclonal plasma cells,immunofixation electrophoresis results,blood and urine M protein levels,blood immunoglobulin levels,bone destruction,serum calcium levels,creatinine clearance,hemoglobin levels,pain grade scores,quality of life karst scores,and TCM symptom scores were recorded before and after treatment in the enrolled patients and processed statistically.The clinical efficacy was evaluated by comparing the bone marrow monoclonal plasma cell ratio,immunofixation electrophoresis results,serum M protein level,and urinary M protein level before and after treatment between the two groups,and the overall treatment effect was evaluated by comparing the efficacy of TCM symptoms,quality of life Carlsbad score and pain grade rating between the two groups,and the results were statistically analyzed.Results:(1)The total treatment efficiency of the two groups was calculated based on the percentage of bone marrow plasma cells,immunofixation electrophoresis results,blood M protein content,and urine M protein content after treatment,and the comparison of the total treatment efficiency between the test group and the control group did not show a statistical difference(P=0.725>0.05);(2)The TCM symptom scores of the test group improved after treatment compared with the control group,and the difference between the two groups was statistical significance(P=0.048<0.05);(3)The post-treatment quality of life KPS score in the test group showed a statistical difference compared with the control group(P=0.006<0.05),and the test group showed improvement in quality of life KPS score compared with the control group;(4)The pain grade score in the test group showed improvement compared with the control group,and the difference between the two groups after treatment was statistically significant(P=0.019<0.05).Conclution: The combination of Ganqixuanbi Decoction with VTd regimen did not improve the overall treatment efficiency of patients with multiple myeloma,which may be related to the small sample size or short observation time,or perhaps the combination of Ganqixuanbi Decoction with VTd regimen did not improve the efficacy of Western medicine.However,the combination of Ganqixuanbi Decoction and VTd regimen could significantly improve patients’ TCM symptoms,reduce their pain and improve their quality of life,reflecting the advantages of combining Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
