Background and objective:Secreted Frizzled-Related protein 5(SFRP5)can regulate inflammatory response and repair vascular endothelial injury, and is associated with the occurrence and development of cardiovascular accidents, obesity, metabolism and atherosclerosis.this work intends to clarify whether there is also a correlation between the level of serum SFRP5 and acute cerebral infarction.Methods:(1)This study collected 189 patients, from October 2020 to November 2021 in the Department of Neurology, the fourth affiliated people’s hospital of Jishou University, and 107 cases in the observation group(acute cerebral infarction)and 82 cases in the control group(non-cerebral infarction).According to the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),57 cases were mild(0-4 points)and 50 cases were moderate and severe(>4 points)in the observation group of 107 cases.(2)The basic information of all subjects were collected, and the concentrations of homocysteine(HCY),blood lipids and serum SFRP5 were measured.Renal function tests and carotid ultrasonography were also performed.(3)The data were expressed by mean ± standard deviation and the composition ratio, and SPSS 22.0 software was used for statistical analysis of the observation data.Differences between groups were analyzed by t or chi-square test, and Logistic regression analysis, covariance analysis,ROC curve were performed simultaneously and random sampling verification were carried out.p < 0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant.Results:(1)there was no significant difference in age 、 gender 、 hypertension 、 type 2diabetes、coronary heart disease、smoking、drinking、creatinine、 triglyceride, and total cholesterol between the control group and the observation group(p>0.05).(2)Compared with the control group,LDL(p<0.001),HCY(p<0.001)and carotid plaque(p<0.001)in the observation group were increased, but HDL(p<0.001)and SFRP5(p<0.001)were decreased, the difference was statistically significant.(3)Multivariate Logistic binary regression analysis showed that carotid plaque(OR=2.929),HCY(OR=1.164)and LDL(OR=2.068)might be risk factors of acute cerebral infarction(p<0.05),and SFRP5(OR=0.907)might be the protective factor of acute cerebral infarction. The t-test results of two independent samples indicated that the SFRP5 concentration in patients with moderate to severe acute cerebral infarction(35.79±9.09ng/ml)was lower than that in patients with mild acute cerebral infarction(39.31 ± 7.97ng/ml),and the difference was statistically significant(p=0.035).The results of covariance analysis showed that there was no significant difference in serum SFRP5 concentration of different severity with acute cerebral infarction(p=0.098).(4)The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve suggested that when the optimal cut-off point of serum SFRP5 concentration was 43.27ng/ml,its area under the curve was 0.702(95% CI: 0.627-0.777,p<0.001),and its sensitivity and specificity were 77.6% and 57.3% respectively, indicating that serum SFRP5 is an indicator with predictive value. Conclusion:Serum SFRP5 may have certain value in predicting acute cerebral infarction instead of the reflection of the degree. |
