Object:Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)is associated with dyslipidemia. However,it is not clear whether follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)is an independent risk factor for dyslipidemia of OSAHS patients, and this paper aims to explore the relationship between FSH level and dyslipidemia of OSAHS patients through the cross-sectional research.Materials and methods:407 subjects admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Qilu Hospital due to snoring from August 2020 to September 2022 were included in this research. After overnight sleep breathing monitoring, fasting blood was collected in the morning. The biochemical indicators such as sex hormones and serum lipids, body measurements such as height, weight, waist circumference and sleep breathing monitoring data were also collected.According to whether the subjects suffered from OSAHS,they were divided into two groups, and the differences of indicators between the two groups were tested. The sex hormone levels of OSAHS patients with dyslipidemia were analyzed.Spearman correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between FSH and lipid level. Finally, with dyslipidemia as the dependent variable, multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the relationship between FSH level and dyslipidemia of OSAHS patients. In addition, the subjects were divided into two groups based on gender for subgroup analysis, and sensitivity analysis was performed on postmenopausal women. Results:After screening,341 subjects were finally included as research subjects.(1)OSAHS patients had a significantly higher morbidity of developing dyslipidemia than non-OSAHS patients(P<0.001),and FSH levels of OSAHS patients with hypertriglyceridemia were significantly higher(P<0.001).There was a positive correlation between FSH and triglyceride(TG)of OSAHS patients(r=0.282,P<0.001).Further Logistic regression analysis showed that compared with the group with the lowest FSH quartile, high quartile of three groups of the risk of high serum TG odds ratios(95%CI)(95%cofidence interval)were 2.71(1.24,5.96),2.52(1.15,5.55),4.66(1.82,11.95),and there was a linear increasing trend between them(P=0.003).(2)Subgroup analysis by gender showed that among male OSAHS patients, the ORs(95%CI)of hypertriglyceridemia risk in the latter three groups were 2.35(1.01,5.47),3.00(1.27,7.11)and 4.73(1.77,12.69),compared with the group with the lowest FSH quartile. It also had a linear increasing trend(P=0.002);Among female OSAHS patients,Logistic regression analysis showed that the ORs(95%CI)for the risk of hypertriglyceridemia in the last three groups were 2.33(0.27,19.90),2.58(0.26,25.23)and 19.62(1.35,286.41).There was also a linear increasing trend(P=0.002).(3)Compared with patients that neither menopausal nor OSAHS,non-menopausal OSAHS patients and menopausal OSAHS patients had an increased risk of hypertriglyceridemia, and ORs(95%CI)were 1.33(0.23,7.58)and 5.35(1.04,27.49).There was a linear increasing trend during the three group(P<0.001).Conclusions:The level of FSH of OSAHS patients complicated with hypertriglyceridemia is significantly increased, and the level of FSH of OSAHS patients is correlated with TG,and a higher level of FSH can increase the risk of hypertriglyceridemia.
