| Objectives:This study is based on the previous research as a theoretical basis, through the compatibility, purification and modulation of Chinese medicine experts,as a sports nutrition supplement during resistance training.Through the subjective pain level, skeletal muscle injury index and thigh circumference at different time points after an acute experiment, this paper explores whether Bushen Yiqi traditional Chinese medicine tonic can accelerate the recovery of an acute skeletal muscle injury and delayed muscle soreness. At the same time,a6-week intervention experiment was conducted to discuss whether Bushen Yiqi traditional Chinese medicine supplements can improve muscle strength gains after resistance training through maximum muscle strength indicators, and to analyze the mechanism of maximum muscle strength growth by combining body composition indicators and anabolic hormone indicators. Methods:This study was divided into acute and chronic experiments. The acute experiment was an acute resistance training experiment.Sixteen subjects were randomly divided into experimental group(TCM group)and control group(CON group). The experimental group needed to take Bushen Yiqi Chinese medicine supplements for 7 consecutive days.On the fourth day,the two groups received an acute resistance training intervention.Blood samples, subjective pain level scores and thigh circumference were collected before,immediately,24 hours,48 hours and 72 hours after the intervention.Longitudinal changes within each group at each time point were analyzed using one-way ANOVA,and between-group changes at each time point were analyzed using independent sample t-test.In this study, the chronic experimental design was 2 × 2 factorial experimental design,in which factor 1 was resistance training, two levels were resistance training and quiet, factor 2 was Chinese medicine tonic, two levels were Chinese medicine tonic and placebo.Four groups were formed: TS group(resistance training + Chinese medicine),TP group(resistance training + placebo),CS group(quiet + Chinese medicine);CP group(quiet + placebo).Twenty-four subjects were randomly assigned to each group for a 6-week intervention.Blood samples were collected, maximal muscle strength was measured, dietary intake was reviewed, and body composition was analyzed before, during, and after the intervention.Between-group changes at each time point were analyzed by two-way ANOVA,and within-group longitudinal changes were analyzed by paired-samples t-test.All experimental results were analyzed by SPSS22.0 software.Results:1 acute intervention experiment :(1)Skeletal muscle injury indexes(serum LHD and CK): Serum CK and LDH in TCM group and CON group were significantly higher than those before intervention immediately,24 h,48 h and 72 h after intervention(p < 0.05).Serum CK in TCM group was higher than that in CON group at 24 h,48 h and 72 h after intervention(p < 0.01).Serum LDH in TCM group was higher than that in CON group at 24 h,48 h and 72 h after intervention(p < 0.05).(2)Subjective pain level score(VAS): The VAS of TCM group and CON group was significantly higher than that before intervention immediately after intervention,24 hours after intervention,48 hours after intervention and 72 hours after intervention(p < 0.01).The VAS of TCM group was higher than that of CON group at 48 h and 72 h after intervention(p< 0.01).(3)Thigh dimension : The left and right thigh circumferences of the TCM group and the CON group were significantly before intervention immediately after intervention,24 hours after intervention,48 hours after intervention, and 72 hours after intervention(p <0.05).6-week chronic intervention experiment:(1)Maximum muscle strength(1RM barbell squat,1RM barbell bench press,1RM barbell hard pull): After intervention,1RM barbell squat,1RM barbell bench press and 1RM barbell hard pull in TS group and TP group were significantly higher than those before intervention(p < 0.01),and the increase of 1RM barbell squat,1RM barbell bench press and1 RM barbell hard pull in TS group were significantly higher than those in TP group(p <0.05),CS group after intervention 1RM barbell bench press and 1RM barbell pull occurred significantly decreased(p < 0.05),1RM barbell squat has a downward trend, but no statistical significance(p > 0.05),CP group after intervention 1RM barbell squat,1RM barbell bench press,1RM barbell pull were significantly decreased(p < 0.05);after the intervention, the differences between the groups were compared. The 1RM barbell squat,1RM barbell bench press, and 1RM barbell hard pull in the TS group were significantly higher than those in the TP,CS,and CP groups(p < 0.05).(2)Body composition(body fat percentage, body weight, skeletal muscle mass): After intervention, the body fat percentage of TS group and TP group decreased significantly(p<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(p > 0.05);there was no significant difference in body weight between the four groups before and after intervention, between groups and within groups. The skeletal muscle mass of TS group and TP group after intervention was significantly higher than that before intervention(p < 0.01),and the increase of skeletal muscle mass in TS group was significantly higher than that in TP group(p < 0.05).After intervention, the skeletal muscle mass of TS group was significantly higher than that of TP,CS and CP groups(p < 0.05).(3)Serum T in the TP group was significantly lower at the second week of intervention than before(p<0.05),and then returned to the pre intervention level at the fourth week of intervention and after intervention(p>0.05).There were no significant intra group and inter group differences among the TP group,CS group, and CP group before,at the second week of intervention,at the fourth week of intervention, and after intervention(p>0.05).At the second week of intervention, serum testosterone in TS group was significantly higher than that in TP group(TS group: 25.77 ± 3.30;TP group: 19.35 ± 4.06;CS group: 27.63 ± 3.82;CP group:25.76 ± 3.71,p<0.01).There was no statistically significant change in serum C,T/C,GH,and IGF-1 between and within groups before and after intervention(p>0.05).Conclusion:(1)Bushen Yiqi Traditional Chinese medicine supplements can relieve the subjective pain after acute resistance training and accelerate the recovery of skeletal muscle injury, but have no effect on thigh swelling after high-intensity resistance training.(2)Bushen Yiqi Traditional Chinese medicine supplements have the effect of increasing strength, and taking traditional Chinese medicine supplements during resistance training can significantly increase the increase of maximum muscle strength.(3)The mechanism of Bushen Yiqi Traditional Chinese medicine supplements may be through increasing the mass of skeletal muscle.(4)The Bushen Yiqi Traditional Chinese medicine supplements could not change the homeostasis of anabolic hormones(T,C,GH,IGF-1)in the quiet period, but could effectively inhibit the decrease of serum T caused by high intensity resistance training. |
