Research On The MaoZedong Thought On Epidemic Prevention In The Early Years Of New China

In the early years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China,due to years of war,people’s lives were difficult and epidemics occurred frequently.People’s survival and life cannot be guaranteed due to backward medical and health conditions and lack of medical resources.So this is a problem needs to be solved urgently in the new China,that is,how to prevent the epidemic,how to carry out the cause of health and epidemic prevention.Great times will inevitably lead to great ideas,and great ideas will inevitably lead to great times.Under the guidance of Mao Zedong’s thought on health and epidemic prevention,the people’s health undertakings and epidemic prevention campaigns were actively developed by the party and the government,and at the same time a perfect health and epidemic prevention system was established.As a result,severe infectious diseases such as plague and smallpox that have long endangered people’s health have been eliminated,and the safety of people’s lives has been guaranteed.In the complex period of the global pandemic of COVID-19 and the frequent outbreak of domestic epidemics,an in-depth study of Mao Zedong’s thought on health and epidemic prevention can provide experience for the current epidemic prevention and control,and also help us to have a more profound,complete and comprehensive understanding of the epidemic prevention and control policies formulated by the party.The main content of the paper consists of three parts.For the first part,the actual conditions and theoretical basis for the formation of Mao Zedong’s thoughts on health and epidemic prevention were discussed.In the early years after China was founded,with backward economic,frequent epidemic disasters,and backward medical and health services,Mao Zedong formed Mao Zedong’s thought on hygiene and epidemic prevention by combining Marx’s and Engels’ thoughts on hygiene and epidemic prevention,criticizing and inheriting the experience of hygiene and epidemic prevention in ancient Chinese medicine,and referring to the practice of hygiene and epidemic prevention by the Communist Party of China in the revolutionary period.For the second part,the main content of Mao Zedong’s thought on health and epidemic prevention in the early years after the founding of China was introduced.Take health and epidemic prevention as a major political task,and strengthen the party’s leadership in health and epidemic prevention work and publicity and education to the people;Relying on the masses to carry out patriotic health campaigns and diseases prevention campaigns centered on eliminating the four pests;Put the focus of health work on the countryside,establish a rural health and epidemic prevention network and a cooperative medical system;Adhere to the health work policy of focusing on prevention and integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine,pay attention to ecological environment protection,and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.For the third part,the historical contribution and the value of the times of Mao Zedong’s sanitation and epidemic prevention thought were evaluated.In the early years after the founding of China,under the guidance of Mao Zedong’s sanitation and epidemic prevention thought,the sanitation work policy was basically established,the sanitation and epidemic prevention system was established,the direction of sanitation and epidemic prevention has been pointed out,the public’s awareness of epidemic prevention has been enhanced,and the era value of Mao Zedong’s sanitation and epidemic prevention thought has been tapped.In the early years after the founding of China,Mao Zedong’s history of leading the people of the whole country to overcome the epidemic under extremely difficult conditions showed that Mao Zedong’s thought on health and epidemic prevention and measures of China’s epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic are effective.Although the history spans decades,there are still lessons to be learned from the experience and enlightenment of defeating the new crown epidemic.In the new era,we must still adhere to the party’s absolute leadership over the cause of health and epidemic prevention,insist that the people are the main force in the construction of health and epidemic prevention,face the grassroots,unite the international community,adhere to scientific prevention and control,and improve our country’s epidemic emergency management capabilities,so as to comprehensively promote the development of public health.
