Objective: Compared with conventional acupuncture combined with exercise therapy, the treatment of radicular sciatica patients by needling Jiaji acupoints and exercise therapy further enriches the treatment methods for radicular sciatica. Methods: The patients selected for this study were from the outpatient department of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The 68 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups using the random number table method, with 34 patients in each group. In the treatment group, the acupuncture points were used in conjunction with exercise therapy, and in the control group, the acupuncture points were used in conjunction with exercise therapy, and the acupuncture points were used in both groups for 30 min each time,6 times a week for 3 weeks. After acupuncture treatment, both groups were treated with exercise therapy 6 times a week for 3 weeks. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was judged by the changes in the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Japanese Orthopaedic Association Evaluation Treatment Score(JOA)and Oswestry Dysfunction Index(ODI)before and after treatment. The above data were analysed using SPSS 22.0 statistical software.Result:1.A total of 68 patients were included,of which 61 completed the study and 7 shed. There were 3 cases of shedding in the treatment group and 4 cases of shedding in the control group. The general data of gender, age and disease duration of the two groups were analyzed and compared, and the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05)and comparable;the JOA,VAS and ODI scores of the two groups before treatment were not statistically different(P>0.05)and comparable.2.Analysis of efficacy: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.55%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 83.33%.The total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05),which was statistically significant.3.The JOA scores,VAS scores and ODI scores of the treatment group and the control group improved before and after treatment(P<0.05),and the difference was statistically significant.4.When comparing the JOA score and ODI score between the treatment group and the control group after treatment(P<0.05),the treatment group was better than the control group;when comparing the VAS score between the groups(P>0.05),the difference was not significant.Conclusion:1.Both Jiaji acupuncture and exercise therapy combined with conventional acupuncture and exercise therapy can improve the symptoms of patients with radicular sciatica.2.The curative effect of acupuncture at Jiaji point along with exercise therapy in the treatment of radicular sciatica is better than that of conventional acupuncture plus exercise therapy.
