Objective:The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the differences in clinical characteristics of PCOS patients with different birth weights, such as TCM constitution, characteristics of the distribution of evidence patterns and their external features, serological indicators, etc. Moreover, this study aims to explore the correlation from birth weight to external characteristics, serological indicators and other clinical features in patients with PCOS.Methods:According to the scientific Research Information Integration system of the Department of Gynecology Outpatient Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, this study screened PCOS patients who were diagnosed with complete and valid information between January 2014 and January 2022.Subsequently,a total of 642 cases were obtained.Thereafter, the patients were divided into 3 groups according to birth weight classification criteria:normal, low and high birth weight recombination. Finally, the various clinical characteristics of the patients were statistically analyzed by SPSS 26.0.Results:1.A total of 642 PCOS patients meeting the criteria were included in this study. The frequency distribution of patients in each group was normal birth weight group(group 1):519 cases, accounting for 80.84%;Low birth weight group(group 2):62 cases, accounting for 9.66%;High birth weight group(3 groups):61 cases, accounting for 9.5%;The distribution difference was statistically significant,P<0.05.2.In the distribution of syndrome types, the patients in group 1 were mainly characterized by kidney deficiency liver depression syndrome(172 cases, accounting for 33.1%),and the frequency distribution rates were higher than other squads. In the 2 groups, the syndrome of phlegm stasis syndrome(23 cases,37%)was the main one,and the frequency distribution rate was higher than other squads. In the 3 groups, the syndrome of phlegm stasis syndrome(29 cases, accounting for 47.5%)was the main one,and the frequency distribution rate was higher than other squads. There was significant difference in frequency distribution among the three groups(P<0.05).3.In terms of physical distribution,Qi-deficiency was the main factor in group 1(114 cases, accounting for 21.9%),and the frequency distribution rate was higher than that of other groups;Qi-deficient substance(22 cases,35.4%)was dominant in 2 groups, and the frequency distribution rate was higher than that in other groups. In the 3 groups, phlegm dampness(20 cases,32.7%)was the main substance, and the frequency distribution rate was higher than that of other groups. There was significant difference in frequency distribution among the three groups(P<0.05).4.In general clinical characteristics and indicators, height, weight,BMI,incidence of obesity,WC,HC,WHtR and acanthosis nigricans score in 3 groups were higher than that in group 1;The scores of height, weight, obesity,WC,HC and acanthosis nigricans in 3 groups were higher than those in 2 groups. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).5.In glucolipid metabolism,FINS value and HOMA-IR value in 3 groups were higher than those in 1 group;Lp(a)value in group 1 was higher than that in group 3.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).6.In the correlation analysis between birth weight and general data and clinical features, birth weight was negatively correlated with age,but positively correlated with age, height, weight and acanthosis nigricans score. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).7.In the correlation analysis between birth weight and sex hormone metabolism, birth weight was negatively correlated with FSH and DHEAS,and positively correlated with E2 and SHBG.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).8.In the correlation analysis between birth weight and glucose, lipid and insulin metabolism, birth weight was positively correlated with FPG.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.In terms of distribution rates, normal birth weight accounts for the majority of patients with PCOS.And the distribution rates for low weight and high weight are similar, with each representing about 10%of all patients. In the normal birth weight group, the syndrome type was mainly kidney deficiency liver depression syndrome, and the constitution was mainly qi-deficiency.The syndrome type of low birth weight patients was mainly phlegm stasis syndrome, and the constitution was mainly qi-deficiency.As for the syndrome type of patients with high birth weight was mainly phlegm stasis syndrome, and the constitution was mainly phlegm dampness.2.The clinical characteristics and indicators of high birth weight patients were generally associated with obesity and showed a more pronounced trend towards obesity than the other two groups. In contrast, there was no significant difference in clinical characteristics and indicators between normal birth weight and low birth weight patients, which may be related to the catch-up growth of low birth weight patients.3.Birth weight is associated with clinical and biochemical parameters of PCOS and may be related to the phenotypic subtypes of the syndrome.Of these, low birth weight is associated with adrenal hyperandrogenism while high birth weight is associated with obesity.
