Clinical Observation Of Lian Weng Si Shen Tang In The Treatment Of Ulcerative Colitis (Spleen And Kidney Yang Deficiency Type) In Remission

Objective:To provide new methods and ideas for the treatment of ulcerative colitis(spleen-kidney yang deficiency type)by observing the clinical efficacy of Lian Weng Si Shen Tang in the treatment of ulcerative colitis(spleen-kidney yang deficiency type)in remission.Methods:Seventy-two patients with remitting ulcerative colitis(spleen-kidney yang deficiency type)(all cases originated from the outpatient clinic of the Department of Liver,Spleen and Stomach Diseases,The First Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Feb.2021 to Jan.2022)were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,with 36 cases in each group.The control group was given mesal achin extended-release granules,orally,for 4 weeks.The treatment group was given mesalachin extended-release pellets plus the addition of Lian Weng Si Shen Tang for 4 weeks.Both groups received general care during treatment,including a low-fat diet,mental health maintenance,and attention to rest.After the treatment course,the scores of TCM syndromes,stool routine,ibD quality of life scale and TCM clinical efficacy were observed before and after treatment in 2 groups.Meanwhile,the safety indicators and adverse reactions were also observed.Statistical software was applied for data analysis and processing to evaluate their clinical efficacy.Results:1.Comparison of general data:Before treatment,the differences between the two groups of cases in gender,age,mean duration of disease,TCM symptom score,stool routine,and inflammatory bowel disease quality of life scale were not statistically significant(P>0.05)and were comparable.2.Comparison of TCM symptom scores:before treatment and 2 and 4 weeks of treatment,the scores of the treatment group and the control group showed a decreasing trend,and the efficacy of the treatment group at 0,2 and 4 weeks was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the efficacy of the control group at 0 and 4 weeks was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the efficacy of the treatment group at 2 and 4 weeks was better than that of the control group3.Comparison of stool routine level:before treatment and 2 and 4 weeks of treatment,the scores of occult blood and leukocyte indexes in the stool routine detected in the treatment group and the control group showed a decreasing trend,and the efficacy of the treatment group and the control group in 0,2 and 4 weeks was statistically significant(P<0.05).At the same time,the efficacy of the treatment group at 2 and 4 weeks was better than that of the control group.4.Comparison of quality of life scale levels:the changes in the total scores of the stool scale detected before treatment compared with 2 and 4 weeks of treatment showed that the scores of both the treatment group and the control group showed a decreasing trend,and the efficacy of the treatment group and the control group at 0,2 and 4 weeks was statistically significant(P<0.05).At the same time,the efficacy of the treatment group at 2 and 4 weeks was better than that of the control group.5.Comparison of clinical efficacy of Chinese medicine:After treatment,in terms of clinical efficacy of Chinese medicine,the effective rate of the treatment group was:94.44%;the effective rate of the control group was:83.33%.The results of the treatment group were significantly better than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant by test(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Lian Weng Si Shen Tang combined with mesalazine in the treatment of ulcerative colitis in remission(spleen and kidney yang deficiency type)can improve the clinical symptoms in Chinese medicine.2.The combined treatment with Lian Weng Si Shen Tang and Mesalazine can improve stool routine level in patients with ulcerative colitis in remission(spleen-kidney-yang deficiency)and their IBD quality-of-life scale scores.3.The efficacy of Lian Weng Si Shen Tang combined with mesalazine in the treatment of ulcerative colitis in remission(spleen-kidney yang deficiency type)is better than that of mesalazine alone.
