| Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Xiaochaihu Decoction in the treatment of Senile Functional Constipation with liver depression and qi stagnation, optimize the treatment scheme of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of Senile Functional constipation, and provide reference value for the treatment of Senile Functional Constipation with traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: 70 cases of Senile Functional Constipation with liver stagnation and qi stagnation were included in this study according to the natriuretic discharge standard. They were randomly divided into 35 cases in the control group and 35 cases in the observation group. The control group was treated with oral lactulose oral solution and the observation group was treated with Decoction of Xiaochaihu Decoction. The course of treatment of both groups was 4 weeks and followed up for 4 weeks. The total score and individual scores of TCM syndromes,CSS score of constipation severity,pac-qol score of constipation patients and the recurrence of TCM syndromes were observed before and after treatment.Statistical analysis and comparison were carried out to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Xiaochaihu Decoction.Result:1.A total of 70 patients were enrolled in this study,of which 69 patients completed clinical observation,1 case in the control group fell off,and there was no fall off in the observation group, with a fall off rate of 1.42%.2.The total effective rate of TCM syndrome in Xiaochaihu Decoction group was 88.57%,and that in lactulose group was 73.52%.The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Xiaochaihu Decoction was better than lactulose in improving TCM syndrome of constipation.3.After treatment, the total score of TCM syndromes and individual scores in the two groups decreased compared with those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).After treatment, there was significant difference in the total score of TCM symptoms between the two groups(P < 0.05),among which there was significant difference in the aggravation of incomplete discharge or difficulty, chest and flank fullness, sagittal gas frequency or hiccup and poor mood(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference in intestinal ringing, abdominal distension or abdominal pain(P > 0.05).Xiaochaihu Decoction is superior to lactulose in improving the feeling of exhaustion or difficulty in excretion, fullness of chest and flank, sagittal Qi frequency or hiccup and aggravation of poor mood.4.After treatment, the CSS score in the two groups decreased compared with that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in CSS score between the two groups after treatment(P > 0.05).The two groups had the same effect in improving the severity of constipation.5.After treatment, the total score of pac-qol in the two groups decreased significantly compared with that before treatment(P < 0.05).After treatment, the total score of pac-qol in Xiaochaihu group decreased more significantly than that of lactulose(P < 0.05).Xiaochaihu Decoction is better than lactulose in improving the quality of life of patients with constipation.6.In the lactulose group,10 of the 25 effective cases recurred, and the recurrence rate was 40.00%;Among the 31 effective cases in the observation group,2 cases recurred, and the recurrence rate was 6.45%.The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The recurrence rate of Xiaochaihu Decoction was lower than that of lactulose. Conclusion: both Xiaochaihu Decoction and lactulose can improve the clinical symptoms of functional constipation in the elderly.Xiaochaihu Decoction is better than lactulose in improving the feeling or difficulty of TCM syndrome discharge of constipation, fullness of chest and flank, frequent sagittal Qi or hiccup, and aggravation of poor mood.It is significantly better than lactulose in improving the quality of life of patients with constipation, and the recurrence rate is low.The curative effect is worthy of affirmation and further research. |
