Clinical Efficacy Observations Of Pingbanshuhen Granules Combined With Dual-wavelength Dye Laser For Hypertrophic Scars

Objective: To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of the combination of Pingbanshuhen granules with dual-wavelength dye laser in the treatment of hypertrophic scars.Methods: In a randomized controlled trial,60 patients with a western medical diagnosis of hypertrophic scars and a Chinese medical evidence diagnosis of Qi stagnation and blood stasis,were randomly separated into a treatment group and a control group.In the treatment group,patients were given oral Pingbanshuhen granules combined with dual wavelength dye laser treatment and topical application of silicone gel;in the control group,patients were treated with dual-wavelength dye laser and topical application of silicone gel,and a total of 3courses were observed in 4 weeks.Before the 1st,2nd,3rd treatment and at the follow-up 1 week after the 3rd treatment,all aspects of the scar were scored and recorded according to the Vancouver Scar Rating Scale.The scores and total scores were contrasted before and after treatment,and the therapeutic index was appraised at the end of treatment.Results:(1)Significant reductions in all aspects were seen in the treatment and control groups after treatment compared to pre-treatment scores,demonstrating the overall therapeutic effect of both treatment modalities on scarring.(2)The treatment group had lower scores in all areas than the control group,and the most significant difference was in the softness score(P<0.05).This proves that the treatment plan of the treatment group has a better therapeutic effect on the scar,especially in softening the scar.(3)After three courses of treatment,the total apparent healing rate of the treatment group reached 56.67%,and the total effective rate reached 96.67%;the total apparent healing rate of the control group was only 16.67%,and the total effective rate reached 93.33%.It was proved that both groups had a therapeutic effect on hyperplastic scar,and the therapeutic outcome of the treatment group was evidently better than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: The treatment of hypertrophic scars with dualwavelength dye laser is clinically effective,safe and has few side effects.It can be promoted as a routine treatment for hypertrophic scars.
