Clinical Observation On PISHENTONGTIAO Decoction Combined With Compound Phellodendron Liquid In The Treatment Of Rectal Anterior Resection Syndrome

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of PISHENTONGTIAO Decoction combined with Compound Phellodendron Liquid in the treatment of anterior rectal resection syndrome,and to provide traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for the treatment of anterior rectal resection syndrome.Methods:A total of 60 patients who met the inclusion criteria in the Department of Anorectal Surgery of the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from November 2020 to October 2021 were collected and randomly divided into two groups,30 cases in each group.The treatment group was given PISHENTONGTIAO Decoction orally and Compound Phellodendron Liquid enema for 4 weeks,and the control group was given Compound Phellodendron Liquid enema for 4 weeks.The defecation frequency,stool characteristics,defecation sensation,anal function,systemic symptoms,etc.were observed and recorded before treatment and 4 weeks after treatment.The LARS scale,Xu Zhongfa "5 items 10 points" rectal function evaluation criteria,and TCM primary and secondary symptom grading and quantification criteria were used for scoring,and the clinical efficacy of PISHENTONGTIAO Decoction combined with Compound Phellodendron Liquid in the treatment of post-proctectomy syndrome was statistically analyzed.Results: All 60 patients who met the criteria completed the treatment,and there were no excluded or drop-out cases.According to the analysis of clinical results: there was no statistical significance in gender,age,AJCC colorectal cancer stage,anastomotic stoma position from anal verge,LARS scale score,Xu Zhongfa "5 items 10points" rectal function score,and TCM primary and secondary symptom score in the treatment control group(P>0.05),with comparability.There were significant differences in LARS scale score and TCM primary and secondary symptom score between the treatment group and the control group(P<0.01),and there were significant differences in anal function evaluation(P<0.05),indicating that the treatment group was superior to the control group in the efficacy.Conclusion: PISHENTONGTIAO Decoction combined with compound phellodendron liquid has a good effect in improving the LARS scale score and primary and secondary symptoms of patients with postproctectomy syndrome,and can effectively improve anal function.It is superior to compound phellodendron liquid alone and has advantages.
