A Research Of The Clinical Efficacy Of Compound Phellodendron Liquid Combined With The Sanpixiaocuo Decoction Modified And Fire-acupuncture In The Treatment Of Pustular Acne (Damp-heat Syndrome)

Objective:This paper focuses on pustular acne (dampness-heat syndrome), and proposes the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) union treatment method of internal and external therapy. The subject selects Compound Phellodendron Liquid combined with the Sanpixiaocuo decoction modified and fire-acupuncture in the treatment, and compares the therapeutic effects with which using TCM acne mask from our hospital so as to evaluate comprehensive efficacy and TCM efficacy. The subject makes the objective evaluation of the safety of Compound Phellodendron Liquid for the hope of simple, convenient, inexpensive and effective treatment methods and drugs for clinical. The TCM acne mask proves to be effective, while only professionals could handle it, and mask powder needs to be produced by professional equipment, which makes it difficult to be applied and popularized in hospitals of basic level. Currently, we need alternative medicine urgently. The subject takes advantage of TCM’s traditional characteristics, and it is of great significance to clinical application and popularization of TCM union treatment method.Methods:The subject adopts random-matching method to make the clinical research. After signing the informed consents, one hundred and six patients with pustular acne (dampness-heat syndrome) were randomly divided into treatment group and matched group. After fire-acupuncture treatment, the treatment group was treated by putting the four-layer sterile gauze soaked of Compound Phellodendron Liquid (Shandong Han Fang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) on the affected part, once a day for twenty minutes; the matched group was treated by using TCM acne mask once a week. Both groups took TCM formula Sanpixiaocuo orally with period of four weeks. The therapeutic effects score and side effects were evaluated respectively before and after treatment, and efficacy evaluation was made through statistical software.Results:①The symptoms, include skin lesions, sore pain, greasy, skin color, were relieved obviously after the treatment in treatment group(P<0.05). And in control group, the symptoms were relieved after the treatment (P<0.05) except skin bags(P>0.05).②The total effective percentage of treatment group is 90.38%, and that of control group is 88.00%. The results showed that the difference of comprehensive efficacy between treatment group and control group was not statistically significant (P>0.05).③The results, which compared the therapeutic effects from different symptoms between two groups, showed that only the symptom of sore pain was statistically significant (P<0.05) and others were not statistically significant (P>0.05). It really shows that Compound Phellodendron Liquid was the more efficient method to relieve sore pain than TCM acne mask.④In treatment group, two patients felt dry and tight in their faces and relieved by rest. Other patients were no obvious adverse reaction. It shows that Compound Phellodendron Liquid is safe and reliable.Conclusions:①Either the efficacy of Compound Phellodendron Liquid or TCM acne mask can significantly improve symptoms of pustular-type(dampness-heat syndrome) by Compound Phellodendron Liquid and TCM acne mask combined with the Sanpixiaocuo decoction modified and fire-acupuncture;②The efficacy of Compound Phellodendron Liquid is better than TCM acne mask in relieved sore pain;③compound Phellodendron Liquid is an effective external preparation for pustular acne (dampness-heat syndrome) and deserves to be applied widely. It has no serious side effect and proves to be secure.At the same time, it also needs further research under large sample.
