Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Qufeng Pingchuan Decoction in the treatment of wind-phlegm asthma at acute attack stage,in order to provide new ideas for the treatment of wind-phlegm asthma. Methods:A total of 60 adult patients with wind-phlegm-asthma were selected from the respiratory outpatient department of The Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2020 to October 2021.According to the study method and treatment plan, the patients were treated for 2 weeks.SPSS26.0 software was used to process the data of TCM clinical efficacy,TCM symptom score,FEV1and PEF,FENO,CRP count and EOS count before and after treatment in the two groups for intra-group and inter-group comparison and statistical analysis,to observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Qufeng Pingchuan Decoction.Results:1.Basic information:There was no statistical significance in gender and age between the two groups(P>0.05).2.TCM clinical efficacy:According to the results after treatment, the total efficiency of the treatment group(100%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(90.0%),with statistical significance(P<0.05).3.TCM symptom score:Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in scores of symptoms between the two groups(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups were comparable.Intra-group comparison before and after treatment showed that both groups achieved good efficacy in improving symptoms, with statistical significance(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the improvement of cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath and secondary symptoms between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).There was statistical significance in improving the symptom of phlegm in throat between the two groups(P<0.05).4.Auxiliary examination indicators:Before treatment, there were no significant differences in FEV1,PEF,FENO,CRP count and EOS count between the two groups(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups were comparable.Intra-group comparison before and after treatment showed improvement in FEV1,PEF,FENO,CRP count and EOS count(P<0.01).There were no significant differences in the improvement of PEF,FENO and EOS counts between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).There were statistically significant differences in FEV1and CRP count(P<0.05).5.No significant adverse events were found in the two groups after the end of the study. Conclusion:The results of clinical study showed that the therapeutic effect of experimental group was higher than that of control group. The experimental group and the control group had the same efficacy in relieving the main symptoms of cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath, secondary symptoms of nasal itching or sneezing, pharyngeal itching, and improving the inflammatory indicators of PEF,FENO and ESO.The experimental group was superior to the control group in alleviating the symptoms of phlegm in the throat, improving FEV1and CRP count. The results showed that Qufeng Pingchuan Decoction combined with Western medicine can effectively improve asthma symptoms, improve lung ventilation function, reduce airway inflammation, reduce asthma symptoms. This study shows that Qufeng Pingchuan Decoction combined with conventional treatment of Western medicine has definite curative effect on the acute attack of bronchial asthma of wind-phlegm-asthma type in a short term, with no adverse events, safety and reliability, which can better relieve asthma symptoms and improve the curative effect. However, due to limited research conditions, the long-term efficacy and safety of this prescription need to be further studied, and the specific mechanism of action needs to be further explored.
