Objective: Based on the principle of Shu Gan Tiao Shen, this study selected Huatuo jiaji point s as the main point s to observe the clinical efficacy on patients with subthreshold depression,so as to provide effective and reliable clinical ideas for the treatment of subthreshold depression. Methods: In this study,72 subthreshold depressed patients who met the criteria wer e randomly divided into observation group(n =36)and control group(n = 36).The observation group was treated with acupuncture method at jiaji points for shugan tiaoshen, while the control group was treated with routine acup uncture. Before treatment,4 weeks and 8 weeks after treatment, the two groups were evaluated with the center for emotional Studies Depression Scale(CES-D),Evaluation of Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD-17),World Health Organization Quality of life(WHOQOL-BREF)and curative effect to observe the clinical effect of acupuncture method at jiaji points for shugan tiaoshen on subthreshold depressi on.R esu lts :1.The total effective rates of the observation group and the control group were 90.91% and 74.19% respectively. There was significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05),indicating that the curative e ffect of acupuncture method at jiaji points for shugan tiaoshen was better than that of the ordinary acupuncture.2.Within group comparison: when compared at each point of acupuncture, the CES-D score,HAMD-17 score showed a decreasing trend in both groups, while the four dimensions of WHOQOL-BREF score:physiological field, psychological field, social relationship field and environmental field showed an increasing trend.3.Comparison between the two groups: after 4 weeks of treatment, the observation group was superior to the control group in HAMD-17 score and the physiological, social and environmental dimensions of WHOQOL-BREF score, but there was no significant difference in CES-D score and the psychological field of WHOQOL-BREF score between the observation group and the control group. After 8 weeks of treatment,CES-D score,HAMD-17 score and the four dimensions of WHOQOL-BREF score in the observation group were better t han those in the control group. Conclusion: Both methods are helpful in the treatment of subthreshold depr ession. However, compared with conventional acupuncture, the a cupuncture method at jiaji points for shugan tiaoshen has better clinical effects on patients with subthreshold depression, which can effectively improve the depressive symptoms of patients and improve the quality of life in patients.
