Objective: To provide a new idea and method for clinical treatment of myotenositis of long head of biceps brachii(LHBB)by preliminarily evaluating the clinical efficacy of smokeless energy-gathered moxibustion in the treatment of LHBB.Methods: A total of 64 patients with LHBB included in this study were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. In the experimental group,32 patients were treated with smokeless energy-gathered Moxibustion, while in the control group,32 patients were treated with warm acupuncture. Both groups were treated once a day for five days as a course of treatment and there were two courses of treatment with two days apart.Visual analogue scale of pain(VAS)and constant murley shoulder score(CMS)were used as clinical observation indexes. After the treatment, the clinical efficacy and comfort score(GCQ)were compared between the groups. The patients were followed up at 3 months after treatment and the long-term efficacy was evaluated. The data were statistically analyzed by SPSS26.0.Results:1.Clinical efficacy: The total effective rate of the experimental group was 96.88%,and it was 87.50% in the control group. There was statistically significant in difference(P <0.05).2.VAS score: The VAS scores were lower after treatment than prior treatment in both groups(P <0.05).The VAS score after treatment was lower in the experimental group than that in the control group(P <0.05).3.CMS scores: The CMS scores of both groups were enhanced after treatment compared with prior treatment(P <0.05).The CMS score after treatment in the experimental group was higher than that in control group(P <0.05).4.GCQ score: The GCQ score of the experimental group was higher than that in the control group(P <0.05).The differences of the GCQ score of physiological, psychological and environmental dimensions were statistically significant(P <0.05),while the differences of social dimensions were not statistically significant(P >0.05).5.At 3 months follow-up after treatment, there was no significant difference between CMS score and CMS score after treatment(P >0.05).Conclusion: Both methods were effective in the treatment of LHBB.The clinical efficacy of smokeless energy-gathered moxibustion in relieving the pain caused by LHBB,improving shoulder joint dysfunction, and improving patient comfort was better than warm acupuncture, and the long-term effect was stable.Smokeless energy-gathered moxibustion is worth promoting in clinic.
