| The prime focus of this research project was to study and conduct computational characterization of the amyloid precursor protein and its disease mechanism in the early onset of Alzheimer’s disease(AD).As amyloid precursor protein has a bigger role to play in the early-onset of AD due to involvement in the production of amyloid β peptides some of which are sticky, and hard to clear and accumulate to form amyloid plaques. Therefore,a comprehensive study was conducted to illustrate the gene and protein analysis of the amyloid precursor protein. The deep understanding about physiochemical properties, function, structure, homology, mutations and other such characteristics of the amyloid precursor protein is carried out in this research project which will be a step forward in the comprehension of the disease mechanism.A number of characteristics associated with APP protein were analyzed by using latest bioinformatics tools and biological databases. The major databases consulted for this study were,Expasy,NCBI,GenBank,Protein data bank,UniprotKB,EMBL-EBI,STRING and many other such databases and software were used for the study purpose. The results were significant in elaborating the pathways and interactions of the amyloid protein with other proteins. The predicted physiochemical properties have demonstrated the active participation of APP gene into the early onset of the AD.Therefore, more therapeutic interventions can be made by targeting proteins involved in the disease system which are predicted in the protein-protein interactions of this study to reduce the plaques formation and tau tangles. Moreover, this study also exclusively expressed the research gap for the future researchers which will help in the continuation of the research work thus leading to useful breakthroughs in the future studies. |
