Retrospective Study Of 80 Cases Of Mandibular Condylar Fracture

Objective: Analyzing retrospectively the clinical data of 80 patients with condylar fracture treated by oral cavity of Sheng Jing Hospital affiliated to China Medical University,to understand the characteristics of mandibular condylar fracture,to study the therapeutic effect of different classification of condylar fractures,to explore the principles and indications of the choice of treatment methods,will provide reference for the better treatment of clinical condylar fracture patients.Method: 80 cases of condylar fracture in the oral and maxillofacial surgery ward of Sheng Jing Hospital of China Medical University from January 2010 to December 2017 were studied retrospectively,the data of each patient were summarized and analyzed statistically.Result:Of the 80 patients with 110 mandibular condylar fractures,men were higher than females,Young adults accounted for the highest proportion of 45%.In the cause of injury,the proportion of traffic accidents is the highest,even reach 37.5%.Neck fracture(median fracture)was accounted for 38.2%,while simple mandibular condylar fracture was accounted for 28.75%,when combined with other parts of mandible fracture was accounted for 71.25%.The curative rate of surgical treatment for adult condylar fracture is higher than that of nonoperative treatment,and the difference is statistically significant(P=0.011<0.05),children are the opposite.The curative rate of surgical treatment for high and middle-low condylar fractures was higher than nonoperative treatment,however,there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion: Mandibular condylar fracture is more common in young male adults.The most common cause is traffic accident injury.The most common type of condylar fracture is condylar neck,especially combined with chin fractures.Children tend to be non-surgical,adults tend to be treated with surgical treatment,the risk of complications in adult non-surgical treatment increased.High,middle and low condylar fractures have a higher rate of complications by non-surgical treatment,surgical treatment can achieve satisfactory results.In daily clinical work,physicians need to consider various factors to determine the final treatment plan.
