| Garden plants are an indispensable element of urban greening,which can not only cr eate a natural and beautiful ecological landscape for the city,but also regulate the climate,reduce noise,block dust,and create a good living environment for people.Mastering the phenology and anatomical characteristics of woody garden plants has important theoretic al and practical significance in plant selection and configuration,ecological environmenta l protection,and climate change trend prediction.In this study,20 common woody garden plants in Hohhot were studied,and the relationship between plant anatomy and drought r esistance was analyzed by studying the phenological period and phenological phase chara cteristics of plants,the anatomical characteristics of plant stems and leaves,and the comp rehensive evaluation of the drought resistance of woody garden plants based on the droug ht resistance index of anatomical structure,comprehensively considering the ornamental value and drought resistance of plants,and screening garden plant with high ornamental v alue and drought resistance.In order to make a reference for the selection of tree species i n the landscaping of Hohhot.The main conclusions of this study are:(1)A survey of the phenological period and phenological phase of 20 woody gard en plants found that the ornamental value of plants in different phenological periods was also different.Overall,the budding period is concentrated in early April;the leaf spread p eriod lasts from mid-March to early June;the flowering period lasts from late March to e arly September;the fruit period lasts from late April to late October;the autumn leaf disc oloration period lasts from mid-August to mid-November;and the defoliation period lasts from early September to late November.From the perspective of the main phenological phases of plants,the phenological phase characteristics of the flowering period showed th e largest number of white flower-colored plant species(accounting for 45%);the fruit sta ge phenological characteristics were characterized by the largest number of yellow-brown fruit-colored plant species(accounting for 55%);and the autumn leaf phenological phase characteristics showed the largest number of yellow leaf-colored plant species(accountin g for 65%).(2)Anatomical analysis of the stem and leaf structures of 20 species of woody gar den plants showed that the stems and leaves of the plants all had drought resistance chara cteristics and different drought resistance.The top five plants based on the thickness of th e fence organization are Caryopteris mongholica>Salix babylonica>Syringa villosa> Styp hnolobium japonicum>Syringa oblata;The top five plants based on the size of leaf struct ure compactness are Styphnolobium japonicum>Salix babylonica>Caryopteris mongholic a>Syringa oblata>Viburnum opulus subsp.calvescens;The top five plants based on the t hickness of the stratum corneum are Syringa oblata>Caryopteris mongholica>Prunus da vidiana>Styphnolobium japonicum>Fraxinus pennsylvanica;The top five plants are rank ed based on the size of the grid sea ratio are Caryopteris mongholica>Prunus sibirica> Vi burnum opulus subsp.calvescens>Syringa villosa>Rosa xanthina.The top five plants bas ed on xylem thickness size are Cornus alba>Syringa oblata>Fraxinus pennsylvanica>Pr unus padus>Sambucus williamsii;The top five plants based on vascular bundle thickness size are Cornus alba>Sambucus williamsii>Prunus davidiana>Prunus triloba>Fraxinu s pennsylvanica;The top five plants based on the size of the catheter diameter are Fraxin us pennsylvanica>Prunus sibirica>Robinia pseudoacacia>Cornus alba>Salix babylonica.The results showed that woody plants such as Cornus alba and Fraxinus pennsylvanica w ere more drought resistant in vascular tissue,while Caryopteris mongholica,Salix babylo nica,Styphnolobium japonicum and Syringa oblata were more drought resistant in the an atomy of some mesophyll tissues.(3)In this study,the ornamental value and drought resistance of the 20 species of wo ody garden plants such as Prunus davidiana,Prunus sibirica,Styphnolobium japonicum and Robinia pseudoacacia are also strong,and the ornamental value and drought resistan ce of 20 kinds of woody garden plants are high,and the ornamental value and drought res istance of shrubs such as Syringa oblata,Prunus triloba,Cornus alba and Caryopteris m ongholica are high,and they are recommended as landscaping plant species in semi-arid areas of Inner Mongolia. |
