State-owned Publishing Units Publish Academic Works Self-financing By The Author Adaptation And Acceptance

Cai Yuanpei once said: "Awarding scholarship to enlighten civilization,cultivating men is the most affectionate." As the essence of human culture,academia should assume the responsibility of spreading knowledge and civilization.Therefore,as an important part of the publishing industry,the publication of academic works should bear the social responsibility and cultural mission entrusted by history and times.However,the development of academic publishing has gone through twists and turns.Nowadays,with the market economy becoming more and more perfect and the market competition becoming more and more fierce,academic publishing is still in a difficult situation.As a supplementary source of publishing funds,self-raised funds greatly enrich the publication of academic works in the publishing market on the premise of guaranteeing the quality of publishing houses.This research focuses on how the state-owned publishing units gradually accept the publication of academic works funded by the authors themselves.Different from general books,the publication of academic works is a way to show research results and promote academic innovation,and can achieve win-win cooperation between academic and publishing.Therefore,the publication of academic works not only needs the efforts of the authors themselves,but also needs the support of the publishing units.At present,there is no shortage of research on academic publication,but the perspective of research is relatively narrow,usually to discuss the micro problems and solutions of academic publication.Based on theories related to editing and publishing science,communication science and other disciplines,this study extensively collects primary and secondary data through literature research,case analysis,in-depth interview and other methods,and makes a comprehensive analysis of the transformation of state-owned publishing units in publishing self-funded academic works.First of all,the key concepts such as state-owned publishing units,academic works publishing,and authors' self-financing are analyzed.Secondly,taking People's Publishing House as a specific case,this paper finds out the changes in the achievements and publishing process of academic works published by the authors with self-financing,and discusses the reasons behind these changes.At last,the author puts forward three suggestions: the publishing industry should establish a normative sustainability mechanism,the publishing industry should reclassify academic works,and the market rules should be established.
