Research On The Correlation Between The Type And Influence Of Scientific Papers

With the continuous development of scientific research,scientific research results emerge in endlessly.As the main form of scientific research activities,academic papers show explosive growth.As the carrier of original scientific knowledge,academic papers play an important role in academic communication and scientific development.Therefore,evaluating the influence of academic papers is a necessary condition for knowledge innovation and performance evaluation.Scholars mainly study the influence of papers on the basis of social influence and academic influence,establish a composite index system of the influence of papers,and explore the internal relationship between the index of paper length,references,co-authors and research results.Up to now,the academic circles have not reached a consensus on the evaluation index of the influence of papers.Different types of papers play different roles in the evolution of scientific knowledge and academic exchanges.Studying the correlation between different types of papers and their influence can help us to have a deeper understanding of the position and role of different types of papers in scientific research and technological innovation,and increase the quantitative basis for evaluating the influence of papers in the future.In order to explore the relationship between paper types and paper influence,this paper has done the following research: combining with the definition and division basis of paper types in Web of science,Scopus and Nature,the paper types are redefined and divided.And choose Article,Review,Meeting and Letter as research objects to discuss the correlation between paper types and paper influence.Taking the number of articles published,the number of citations,the number of downloads,the projects supported by the fund and the source journals as the index of paper influence,SPSS19 is used to evaluate the correlation between paper types and paper influence.The results show that there is a significant correlation between the types of papers and the amount of articles published,the total number of downloads,the total frequency of citations and fund projects.Among them,Review,as a viewpoint put forward by scholars through resource accumulation and deep thinking,has high academic influence.The average download times,citation rate and citation of fund project papers of this type of papers are higher than those of the other three types of papers;Article is the most important paper type in the field of condensed matter.This type of paper has many published articles and has the advantages of innovation and research in content.The total number of downloads,the total frequency of citations and the proportion of funded projects are the highest;Letter is the least published paper type in condensed matter field,and the total number of citations and downloads are generally low.Due to the incomplete content of Meeting and the lack of peer review,the cited rate and average download times of articles are generally low,and Meeting is not published in the top 15 journals with impact factors in condensed matter field.Therefore,journals should pay more attention to the quality of papers while paying attention to the types of published papers,establish lasting and efficient manuscript receiving channels,strictly formulate Review systems,properly carry out review columns,and continuously improve the competitiveness of journals through expert manuscripts or high-quality manuscripts;Scholars should pay attention to the development trend of paper types in the research field,focus on the highly competitive "scarce" papers in this field,and at the same time improve the Letter and Meeting contents,instead of aiming at the evaluation of professional titles,academic awards or evaluation of scientific research projects,abandon the concept of "SCI first" and attach importance to the academic quality and content quality of papers.
