In recent years,with the development of graphics processing chip technology,a variety of consumer-grade virtual reality devices have gradually entered our daily lives.However,due to the difference in hardware performance,the virtual reality device still has a large delay between motion perception and display refresh,which has an adverse effect on the user experience.Therefore,the research on the delay detection technology of virtual reality devices is gradually becoming a new research topic.Most of the delay detection devices of current virtual reality equipment have a complicated structure and high cost,and are basically customized for some specific devices to be tested,which has the problem of low versatility.In this paper,the photoelectric detection method is used to reduce the size of the delay detection module and reduce the cost while ensuring the minimum accuracy of delay detection up to 1 microsecond.At the same time,the automatic control software of the delay detection device and the delay detection scene software compatible with different virtual reality devices have been developed,which improves the convenience and versatility of the system.The main work in this article is as follows:1)By investigating and researching the relevant literature of virtual reality delay detection technology,a delay detection method for virtual reality equipment is proposed;2)The virtual reality delay detection device is built,and the host computer software is written using Qt,which realizes the automatic control of the delay detection device;3)Based on Unity3 D developed virtual reality delay detection scene matching with virtual reality delay detection device,a black-and-white switching scene that changes with motion sensing sensor data is designed for the needs of photoelectric detection;4)In order to meet the characteristics of the versatility of the delay detection system,integrate the detection scenarios for different characteristics of the device under test into the same software,and write freely in the UI main interface by writing the corresponding main control program;5)An algorithm for removing gravity acceleration is designed,and the motion sensing data is optimized for the virtual reality device to be tested using the inertial sensor as the motion sensing function.After completing the system design and device construction,the device was used to perform delay detection on HTC VIVE.The results show that the average delay measured by the system is.At the same time,the two signals of the oscilloscope connected to the photoelectric detector are used to compare and verify the delay detection results.It is found that the delay measured by the oscilloscope is24.486 ms,and there is an error of 8.262% between the two.Mainly caused by the response time of the photodetector itself.In the test run of the whole machine,the delay detection device designed in this paper meets the predetermined technical indicators and the measured amount of time has the characteristics of high precision and high accuracy.The modular design can also be used according to different requirements when writing programs.Multi-function detection,the overall device can achieve excellent human-computer interaction.
