With the flow and penetration of global culture,local culture was once impacted and reduced.The resulting phenomenon of non-locality and homogeneity caused continuous debate in academia.In recent years,with the rapid development of society and the growing demand for culture,people began to pay more attention to local characteristics,and local culture has gradually shown a rising and expanding trend.At present,creating indigenous and local cultural practices and incorporating them into spatial planning has become an important direction of urban renewal and space construction.Localand is located in the Metropolitan Commercial Complex in the High-tech Zone of Xi'an.It takes local culture as the theme,combines practices in a variety of fields to constitute local cultural experience,and is expressed as "The composite space of urban culture" according to its own situation,which inspires a new thinking on traditional urban cultural space.Therefore,this paper takes Localand as the research object,adopts qualitative research methods such as participatory observation,semi-structured interview and text analysis,and analyze the space construction formed by Localand's media form and meaning expression from the perspective of spatial mediatization.Firstly,this paper explains the concept of Composite Space of Urban Culture,and then demonstrates the rationality between the theory of spatial mediatization and place construction.Secondly,this article outlines Localand's symbolic system from the three levels of architectural form,local business formats,and nostalgic objects,concluding that Localand,as a product of urbanization,has mixed characteristics of the place's landscape created by its material space.Thirdly,through the analysis of people's daily life practice in space,it is found that community activity space,art exhibition space and commercial consumption space constitute multiple spatial of Localand,and the specific communication mode and interactive pattern in the space form Localand's place spirit and place texture.Finally,the author uses Nvivo12 qualitative analysis software to investigate the spiritual space constructed byWeChat self-media platform,and further presents the digital practice extended by the public in Weibo social media,so as to explore the participatory shaping and production of place by communication in cyberspace.To sum up,this paper argues that Localand,the composite space of urban culture,constructs a spatial media,spreading,carrying and shaping its meaning of place in the interweaving of material space,space practice and virtual space:It presents the integration of modern and historical elements,global and local culture,and constructs the spiritual home of reminiscence and belonging identity through the daily communication and activities of the public.Meanwhile,digital media also participate in the perception,shaping and propagation of Localand,realizing the mutual construction of virtual and real space.
