Research On Coverage Character Report Of "Southern People Weekly"(2010-2019)

Character reporting has always been the focus of China's news work.Southern people weekly,founded in June 2004,is the first people magazine in China.Over the past 15 years,the magazine has been continuously exploring the reporting of people,taking cover figures as one of the key columns,forming a reporting style integrating journalism and literature,and fully reflecting the magazine's consistent market positioning and reporting philosophy.Based on the coverage of the cover figures of southern people weekly in the past ten years,this study sorts out the character images and reporting ideas shaped in a specific era,so as to provide experience and reference for the innovation of the reporting model of the characters.This paper takes the cover figures of southern people weekly as the research object,and takes the frame theory and the media image theory as the theoretical support to analyze the text and content of the cover figures reports from 2010 to 2019.The research is divided into five parts.The first chapter introduces the research background and significance,and summarizes and analyzes the current research situation at home and abroad,and puts forward the research questions.The second chapter sorts out the development situation of southern people weekly and the features of the cover person column,and summarizes the importance and influence of the cover person report based on the media environment and the rule of the cover person report.In chapter 3,244 issues of magazines and 597 cover stories are selected as research samples,and content analysis is carried out from three aspects: cover image,cover story content and report form.Based on the content analysis of the third chapter,the fourth and fifth chapters analyze the problems in the cover story of southern people weekly and put forward the corresponding countermeasures.Through the research,it is found that,to some extent,there are some problems in the coverage of cover figure,such as unbalanced selection of cover figure,homogenization of report content,deviation of agenda setting from magazine positioning,stereotyped structure,subjective narrative,monotonous cover layout and insufficient consciousness of cover column planning.This shows that in the turbulent social environment,the elite culture and power discourse,the concept of entertainment consumption and the concept of typical people report,and other factors have a significant impact on the positioning and selection of the cover person report of southern people weekly.Finally,in view of the problems mentioned above,the paper proposes relatively targeted strategies from three aspects of image construction,content construction and form innovation,in the hope of making a greater breakthrough in the cover story of "southern people weekly" and improving the industry influence.
