With the advent of the era of big data,Fibre Channel(FC)and Ethernet technologies are widely used in high-performance networks and storage,in order to enable different devices in heterogeneous storage networks to communicate with each other and improve data transmission. This paper designs and implements a multi-protocol bridging system and an efficient protocol processing engine, which has important significance for the development of heterogeneous network technology. The main goal of this paper is to study the FC-IP multi-protocol bridging system and the processing technology of the related protocol RoCEv2.Firstly,the structure and format of each protocol are introduced, then the IP core module of protocol conversion is designed on the hardware platform of FPGA.FC-TCP/ICMP protocol conversion enables Ethernet devices to communicate with each other through FC networks;FC-UDP protocol conversion enables mutual communication between Ethernet devices and FC devices. Then, through the study of the RoCEv2 protocol, the data in the Solid State Disk(SSD)is read and encapsulated into the RoCEv2 format, including data segmentation, header addition and checksum calculation. Finally, the test platform was built to test and simulate the functions and performance of the FC-IP multi-protocol bridge system and the RoCEv2 processing engine. The experimental test results show that the FC-IP multi-protocol bridging system can process multiple protocols such as FC,TCP,ICMP and UDP.The hardware resolves the ARP protocol, which speeds up the MAC address mapping process. The averages delay of one-way protocol conversionis 2.7us and the maximum bandwidth is 115MB/s,which is in line with the requirements of Gigabit Ethernet. The transmission rate of the RoCEv2 protocol processing engine in the simulation is about 1.016GB/s,which is close to the theoretical value of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet rate. The network performance achieves the expected design requirements.
