This research mainly focuses on the medical fears of hospitalized children in hospitals and explores the effect of play therapy intervention on alleviating children's medical fears through practical methods. For children, any unfamiliar place can easily cause fear, especially when they are in the hospital. However, medical fear affects the treatment process and rehabilitation effects of hospitalized children who need to be systematically treated for a long time in the hospital to varying degrees. Therefore,it is of great significance to alleviate their medical fear.Children love games by nature. Therefore, the author adopts non-guided and role-playing games methods and techniques when intervening in children's medical fears, and mainly combines group work to intervene. Before intervention, this study mainly measured and described the medical fear of inpatients from four dimensions: medical environment fear, interpersonal fear, self fear and medical operation fear;in the intervention process, the fear of medical care was mainly intervened by role-playing game combined with the model and method of group work. Before and after the group work, six children who participated in group activities were measured and interviewed by scale.Through the in-depth arrangement of these data and some visual changes of the hospitalized children. The following conclusions are drawn: first, the effect of play therapy on the fear of medical care of inpatients is significant, and this method is operable;secondly, the role of play therapy in the fear of medical care of inpatients is affected by the age of the children, the coordination of medical staff and parents, the professional of workers and other factors. In order to better use play therapy to solve the medical fears and other negative emotions of hospitalized children, and enhance their compliance with treatment, the author suggests that basic play facilities should be set up in the children's department of the hospital and equipped or trained with medical backgrounds.Professional workers provide non-medical support services for children;in addition, attention should be paid to the role of medical staff and parents of children in alleviating children's medical fears, and they should be invited to participate in the intervention process to reduce the negative effects of hospitalized children emotions, and make efforts to enhance the compliance of children with treatment.
