Chinese culture has a long history.The proposal and implementation of the strategy of cultural "going out" and the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China also clearly put forward to develop China's cultural soft power.The translation of Taijiquan is also an important way to develop the soft power of Chinese culture.As one of the most distinctive representatives of Chinese culture,Taijiquan is deeply rooted in traditional Chinese philosophy,aesthetics,religion,medical theory,and integrates the strengths of various boxing techniques,and combines the guidance of Tuina,so as to move smoothly.It has become one of the Chinese traditional sports with the most profound Chinese excellent culture.Taijiquan,as a part of Chinese traditional culture,is deeply influenced by Chinese traditional Confucianism's thought of "harmony between man and nature","moderation" and Taoism's thought of "inaction,no struggle".It is the vivid embodiment of Chinese people's pursuit of harmony,attitude towards etiquette and cultural connotation in Wushu.The unique cultural connotation of Taijiquan makes translation more difficult.Although some achievements have been made in the study of the translation of Taijiquan terms,few studies have been conducted from the perspective of cross-cultural communication.At present,the focus of the study is more on the general analysis of the methods,strategies and principles of the translation of Taijiquan terms,and less attention is paid to the cultural barriers in the process of translation.Therefore,this paper focuses on how to solve the cultural barriers in the translation of Taijiquan terms.Guided by the theory of cross-cultural communication,this paper chooses Taijiquan terms in the translation of Taijiquan terms such as "Chen's Taijiquan of type 56" and "Chinese English martial arts dictionary" as the research object,analyzes the cultural and linguistic characteristics of Taijiquan terms through literature and analysis,and then explores the feasibility and necessity of translating Taijiquan terms into English from the perspective of cross-cultural communication The results of the study show that because of its outstanding problems such as inconsistent translations,multiple translations,and excessive literal translation,it is feasible to introduce cross-cultural communication into the English translation of Tai Chi terms from both theoretical and practical levels;The different expressions of cultural obstacles in the English translation of Taijiquan terms are explained:(1)cultural gap;(2)cultural conflicts with different meanings of the same word or different words with the same meaning,and the causes of the analysis are analyzed,and on this basis,reasonable The countermeasures to solve cultural barriers were discussed,It also discusses how to use various translation methods flexibly,how to improve the translator's cross-cultural communication ability and consciousness,how to realize the transition from professional to all-round and how to unify translation principles.It is the rich cultural connotation of Taijiquan that provides an objective basis for the study of the translation of Taijiquan terms from the perspective of cross-cultural communication.It is expected to provide a new perspective for the future translation of Taijiquan and improve the translator's awareness and ability of cross-cultural communication.
