Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Cognitive Impairment After Ischemic Stroke With “Invigorating Qi,Removing Blood Stasis And Phlegm Method”

Objective: Based on the guiding principle of "invigorating qi,removing blood stasis and phlegm","Yiqi Huoxue San combined with Huanglian Wendan Decoction" was used to treat post-stroke cognitive impairment(PSCI),and the curative effect was evaluated through data analysis,hoping to provide clinical evidence in the treatment of PSCI.Methods:Sixty subjects who met the inclusion criteria with a randomized controlled research method were collected totally,were randomized into the experimental group and the control group,both groups were 30 cases.The subjects in both groups received basic western medicine treatment.The control group was given Donepezil on the basis,and the experimental one was treated with traditional Chinese medicine on the basis of the control group.We observed the scores of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale(Mo CA),National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),and Modified Barthel Index(MBI)before treatment,after 4 weeks and 12 weeks,respectively.In the end,we evaluated the efficacy according to the scores.Results:1.The total effective rate of the experimental group was 83.3%,and the control group was 73.3%;2.Comparison scores of Mo CA between the two groups:the difference between the two groups in Mo CA was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the experimental group was better than the control one.3.Comparison scores of MBI between the two groups: the difference in MBI between the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05),and the experimental group was better than the control one;4.Comparison scores of NIHSS between the two groups:the scores of NIHSS varied between the two groups,which was Statistically significant(P<0.05),and the experimental group is better than the control group。Conclusion: Patients’ cognition can be effectively improved by two methords,which one is western medicine alone,another one is integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment.The clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine with "invigorating qi,removing blood stasis and phlegm method" is better than Western medicine alone.Traditional Chinese medicine is safe and effective in treating PSCI.
