Clinical Observation On Modified Tongdu Huoxue Decoction For The Treatment Of Degenerative Lumbar Spinal Stenosis

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of Modified Tongdu Huoxue Decotion in the treatment of degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis.MethodsA total of 42 patients who met the observation indicators in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2020 to October2021 were selected and divided into 22 patients in the experimental group（13 males and 9 females）and 20 patients in the control group（14 males and 6 females）,the age of the experimental group was（66.36±6.79）years,and the course of disease was（18.18±10.32）months;the age of the control group was（65.15±6.84）years,and the course of disease was（17.75±10.89）months moon.During this treatment,both groups of patients stopped other treatments related to the disease,and both groups received basic health education,instructing them to avoid excessive activity,exercise the lumbar back muscles,and under the guidance of daily breathing and breathing to open the Du meridian.On this basis,the patients in the control group took Shujinjianyao Pills orally,and all the patients in the experimental group received the Modified Tongdu Huoxue Decoction,and the course of treatment in both groups was 3 months.The VAS score,JOA score,claudication distance,and TCM syndrome score were compared between the two groups before treatment,1 month after treatment,and 3 months after treatment.ResultsAll the data of the two groups of patients in this trial were recorded and saved.After analysis,it was concluded that:1.There was no statistical significance in the comparison of the general data（sex,age,course of disease）and various observation indicators before treatment between the two groups of patients,P>0.05,are comparable.2.VAS score: in the intra-group comparison of VAS scores in the experimental group before treatment,1 month after treatment,and 3 months after treatment,P < 0.05,the difference was statistically significant,indicating that the treatment method in the experimental group can significantly relieve the pain of patients;Compared with the control group before treatment and1 month after treatment,we have found the difference was not statistically significant（P > 0.05）,and when 3 months after treatment compared with before treatment,there was a statistical difference（P<0.05）,indicating that the control group patients has no significant improvements in pain within a month,and the patient’s pain was not significantly reduced until 3 months of treatment.The VAS scores between the two groups were compared at 1 month and 3 months after treatment,P<0.05,indicating that the experimental group had better pain relief effect than the control group.3.JOA score: in the intra-group comparison of the two groups of patients at 1 month,3 months after treatment and before treatment,P<0.05,there was a statistical difference;the comparison between the two groups at 1 month and 3 months after treatment P<0.05,there is a statistical difference,indicating that the two groups of treatment methods can improve the patient’s dysfunction,but the effect of the experimental group is better.4.Limping distance: in the comparison of the test group before treatment,1 month after treatment,and 3 months after treatment,P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant;there was no significant difference between the control group before treatment and 1 month after treatment（P>0.05）,there was a statistical difference between 3 months after treatment and before treatment（P<0.05）;the comparison between the two groups at 1 month after treatment and 3 months after treatment P < 0.05,indicating that the experimental group was more effective than the control group.Conducive to extending the limp distance.5.TCM syndrome score: the comparison between the experimental group and the control group at 1 month after treatment,3 months after treatment and before treatment,P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant;the two groups were 1 month after treatment and 3 months after treatment.The comparison between the groups was P<0.05,and the difference was statistically significant,indicating that the experimental group was significantly better than the control group.ConclusionsThe Tongdu Huoxue Decoction can effectively relieve low back and leg pain,improve functional impairment,prolong limp distance,significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis,and significantly improve the quality of life of patients.It can be widely used in patients with degenerative lumbar spine.in people with canal stenosis.
