The Relationship Between The Elderly’s 2-way Social Support,Aging Expectation And Housebound

Objective To explore the status quo and influencing factors of 2-way social support,aging expectation and housebound for the elderly in community,and to clarify the relationship between 2-way social support,aging expectation and housebound for the elderly,so as to provide reference for effectively improving the status of housebound for the elderly.Methods Cluster sampling was used in this study.Select one administrative district from the seven administrative districts of Tangshan City,Lubei District;then 2 communities(Tuanjielou Community and Xiangfuli Community)were selected from the communities in Lubei District.During October,2020 to September 2019,928 elderly people was investigated by applying General Situation Survey Scale,Housebound Scale,the Brief 2-Way Social Support Scale,Expectations Regarding Aging-12 Scale,Family APGAR Index,Activities of Daily Living Scale,Geriatric Depression Scale-15,Athens Insomnia Scale.Questionnaires fill in and check in time.The survey data were analyzed by SPSS22.0.The measurement data were expressed as(?)±s.Univariate analysis was performed by t-test and analysis of variance,and multivariate linear regression analysis was performed by multivariate analysis.Enumeration data were expressed as frequency and percentage,compared between groups byχ~2 test,and multivariate analysis was performed by binary Logistic regression analysis.Pearson correlation was used for correlation analysis.The mediation effect test procedure proposed by Wen Zhonglin was used to analyze the mediation effect.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results 1 The score of providing support was(16.84±5.701),which was above the average level.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age,exercise,family care,type of chronic disease,activity ability and depression were the independent influencing factors of elderly support.The score of receiving support was(21.51±4.334),which was the average level.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the main economic sources,living conditions,family care,chronic diseases,medication types and depression were the independent influencing factors for the elderly to receive support.2 The total score of aging expectation of the elderly was(28.03±6.188),which was above the average level.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age,marital status,family care,exercise,sleep,activity ability and depression affected the aging expectation level of the elderly.3 The incidence of Housebound was 15.7%,with 146 senior citizens at Housebound.Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that the occurrence of elderly housebound was affected by marital status,exercise status,sleep status,types of medication,activity ability and depression.4 Pearson correlation analysis results showed that there was a negative correlation between support provided by the elderly and Housebound(r=-0.374,P<0.05),a negative correlation between aging expectation and Housebound(r=-0.411,P<0.05),and a positive correlation between support provided by the elderly and aging expectation(r=0.547,P<0.05).5 The results of mediating Effect showed that there is a partial mediating effect between the provision of support and housebound by older people’s expectations of aging(P<0.05).The mediating Effect was ab=-0.161,the total Effect was c=-0.374,and the contribution rate of the mediating Effect to the total EffectΜ=43.0%.Conclusion 1 The elderly 2-way social support was above the medium level,and the elderly received more support than provided support.Age,family care,exercise status,chronic diseases,activity ability and depression were the influencing factors for the elderly to provide support.The main financial resources,living conditions,family care,chronic diseases,medication and depression are the influential factors of receiving support.2 The aging expectation of the elderly is above the medium level.The aging expectation of the elderly who are young,have a spouse,have good family function,take regular exercise,have no insomnia,normal activity ability,and have no depression is high.3 The incidence of Housebound is 15.7%.Risk factors of Housebound for the elderly are not exercising,insomnia,various types of medication,activity disorder and depression.4 In the two-way social support,the provision of support is correlated with the aging expectation of the elderly and housebound.;Aging expectation plays a partially mediating role in the effect of providing support on elderly housebound.Figure1;Table33;Reference154...
