Objective:To understand the status of post-traumatic growth, resilience and social support in patients with spinal cord injury. To investigate the relationship between post-traumatic growth and resilience and social support in patients with spinal cord injury; To analyze the mediating effect of resilience on post-traumatic growth and social support in patients with spinal cord injury, and to provide theoretical basis for nurses to develop nursing intervention from the perspective of resilience and social support and improve the level of patients’post-traumatic growth. Methods:Using the convenience sampling method, the choice in November 2020 to December 2021 in Shenyang,3 Grade A hospital of 204 patients with spinal cord injury rehabilitation center, the questionnaire consisted of self-made general data questionnaire,post-traumatic growth scale(PTGI),Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),Percevied social support scale(PSSS).The effective recovery rate was 98.08%.All data were used SPSS22.0 for statistical analysis, including descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample t-test,one-way analysis of variance,Pearson correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis,Process macro program mediating effect analysis,Bootstrap program mediating effect test.Results:1.The scores of post-traumatic growth, resilience, and social support, and the statistical difference of scores in demographic and disease-related data of patients with spinal cord injury. The post-traumatic growth score of 204 patients with spinal cord injury was 53.48±8.41,and there were significant differences in economic income, educational level, occupation, working status and medical payment method. The score of resilience was63.72±10.82,and there were significant differences in age, marital status, economic income, educational level, occupation, working status, payment method of medical treatment and self-care ability. The social support score was 57.85±7.578,and there were significant differences in age, marital status, economic income, educational level, occupation, working status, medical payment method and self-care ability.2.Correlation analysis of post-traumatic growth, resilience and social support in patients with spinal cord injury. All dimensions of post-traumatic growth and of SCI patients were positively correlated with the resilience and all dimensions(r=0.281~0.946,P<0.01).There was no significant correlation between the relationship with others in the post-traumatic growth of SCI patients and the family support dimension of social support(r=0.12,P=0.088),and the scores of other dimensions were significantly positively correlated(r=0.143~0.867,P<0.05).Resilience and all dimensions of SCI patients were significantly positively correlated with social support and all dimensions(r=0.228~0.946,P<0.01).3.Multiple regression analysis of factors related to post-traumatic growth in patients with spinal cord injuryThe two dimensions of resilience(B=0.728,P<0.01),toughness and strength(B=1.015,P<0.01),and the dimension of family support(B=0.543,P<0.026)in social support were included in the regression equation. The multiple regression coefficient was0.729,which could explain 53.2%of the variation of the equation(R~2=0.532).4.Analysis of the mediating effect of resilience on post-traumatic growth and social support in patients with spinal cord injuryThe mediating effect showed that that social support could not only directly predict post-traumatic growth, but also could predict post-traumatic growth through the mediating effect of resilience. The direct effect(0.15)and mediating effect(0.24)accounted for 39.54%and 60.59%of the total effect(0.39),respectively.Conclusion:1.Post-traumatic growth was found in patients with spinal cord injury during rehabilitation, which was at a moderate level.2.The economic income, educational level, working status, occupation, medical payment method and self-care ability of patients with spinal cord injury had significant influence on the post-traumatic growth score.3.There was a significant positive correlation between the post-traumatic growth, resilience and social support of patients with spinal cord injury. The dimensions of toughness, strength and family support could significantly predict the post-traumatic growth of patients.4.Resilience had a partial mediating effect between social support and post-traumatic growth in patients with spinal cord injury.Nurses can improve patients’post-traumatic growth and quality of life during rehabilitation by improving their resilience and social support.
