| Objective: This study through questionnaire surveys,in order to understand the status quo of occupational identity,psychological capital and work engagement of petrochemical employees,and the impact of demographic variables on the three,and then to analyze the relationship among the three variables of occupational identity,psychological capital and work engagement.Finally,in order to provide a scientific basis for improving the professional identity and work engagement of petrochemical employees,thereby improving work efficiency and promoting the physical and mental health of employees of petrochemical enterprises.Methods: This study adopted a cross-sectional study.The survey was conducted in march,2018.A cluster sampling of petrochemical enterprise in Liaoning Province was conducted.A total of 1888 petrochemical employees from various departments were selected and a questionnaire survey was conducted after obtaining the consent of the research subjects.The effective rate of the questionnaire was 80.56.The contents of the survey included general survey of petrochemical employees,occupational identity scale,Psy Cap Questionnaire-24(PCQ-24)and Utrecht work Engagement Seale(UWES).Data entry was performed on the questionnaire,and SPSS 20 software used descriptive analysis,factor analysis,correlation analysis,regression analysis,and one-way analysis of variance to perform statistical analysis on factors related to petrochemical enterprise workers’ occupational identity,psychological capital and work engagement.Results: Single factor analysis showed that education background,type of work,rnight shifts and regular shifts were the main factors affecting the work engagement of petrochemical employees(P < 0.05).Single factor analysis showed that age,monthly income,type of work,night shifts and regular shifts were the main influencing factors of enterprise employees’ professional identity(P<0.05).Single factor analysis shows that education background,monthly income,night shifts and regular shifts were the main influencing factors of petrochemical enterprise employees ’ psychological capital(P < 0.05).There is a significant positive correlation with professional identity,psychological capital and work engagement and their dimensions(P<0.05),professional identity,self-efficacy,optimism and hope were the main factors affecting the work engagement of petrochemical enterprises.Professional identity can explain 54.2% of the variance in work engagement,psychological capital can explain 51.6% of the variance in work engagement.Both professional identity and psychological capital can explain 39.0% of the variance in work engagement and positively predict work engagement.Psychological capital plays a part of the mediating role between professional identity and work engagement,and the mediating effect accounts for 27.8% of the total effect.Conclusion: The professional identity,psychological capital and work engagement of employees of a petrochemical enterprise in Liaoning Province are all at a relatively low level.Professional identity and psychological capital are important influencing factors of work engagement,and psychological capital plays a part of the mediating role between professional identity and work engagement.Improving the professional identity and psychological capital level of enterprise employees can increase their work engagement and promote their physical and mental health. |
