Objective To study the postoperative effects in patients with eosinophilic nasal polyps(ECRSwNP)who were implemented with functional endoscopic sinus surgery(FESS).To analyze the changes of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores, peripheral blood immunoglobulin E(IgE),eosinophils(EOS)in patients at different time-before and after surgery-so that we can provide a new theoretical basis for the treatment of ECRSwNP.Methods From November 2019 to November 2020,55 patients were selected. All of them were diagnosed with ECRSwNP,and they were from the Department of Otolaryngology,Head and Neck Surgery.Among them,a total of 31 patients were hospitalized in our department for FESS treatment and postoperative combined drug therapy, which were the experimental group;A total of 24 patients who received drug therapy and regular follow-up in our outpatient department were treated as the control group, and the type, dose and course of drugs’ use were the same as the experimental group. The changes of VAS score, absolute value and percentage of peripheral blood EOS and IgE level before and 2 months after treatment were compared between 2 groups.SPSS software was used to analyze the collected experimental data.Pair sample t test was used to compare the experimental data within the group, and independent sample t test was used to compare the experimental data between the groups.P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results(1)Before treatment,we compared all patientis’ age,gender,pre-treatment VAS score, peripheral blood EOS,IgE level between the experimental group and the control group, and no significant differences were found(P> 0.05),indicating the comparability of the experiment.(2)There was a statistical difference in the VAS scores between the experimental group and the control group,at the part of the intra-group comparison before and after treatment(P< 0.05).After different therapy’s treatment, both groups’ VAS scores were significantly reduced, and we found that the experimental group’s scores decreased more significantly(P< 0.05).(3)The comparison of the levels of peripheral blood EOS and IgE before and after treatment between the two group showed a statistical difference(P< 0.05).After different therapy’s treatment, the levels of peripheral blood EOS and IgE were reduced, whether in the experimental group or in the control group. And we also found that the experimental group’s level decreased more significantly(P< 0.05).Conclusion(1)For patients with ECRSwNP,the therapy of FESS combined with drug can improve patients’ subjective symptoms, reduce the levels of peripheral blood EOS and IgE,but they were effective in a short time.(2)Simple drug treatment can to a certain extent, the volume of a narrow nasal polyps, lower levels of peripheral blood EOS and IgE,but its action time is very short, can’t do polyp radical excision and long-term effect is poor, can cause polyps in delay again and again.(3)Compared with drug treatment, the clinical efficacy for the patients with FESS combined drug treatment were more significant. And the patients’ VAS score, levels of peripheral blood EOS and IgE decrease more significantly.Compared with control group, the therapeutic effect of the experimental group is much better.
