| Objective To study epilepsy cases diagnosed in multiple centers in Inner Mongolia, analyze their general and clinical data, and summarize the basic situation and current status of drug treatment of epilepsy patients. Methods Retrospective analysis on 396 cases of epilepsy patients in the outpatient and inpatient neurology department of Baotou City Central Hospital,The Second Hospital of Chifeng,Xing An Meng Hospital,Chifeng Municipal Hospital,Ordos Central Hospital from October 2019 to October 2020,Collect the research subjects’ age of first onset, sex, living area, seizure type, cause of onset, comorbidity, treatment and other relevant data, organize the data and conduct statistical analysis. Results 1.General information: There were 238 male patients(60.1%)and 158 female patients(39.9%).There were 262 urban patients(66.2%)and 134 rural patients(33.8%).Age stratification: 0-10 years old 127 cases(32.1%),11-20 years old 88 cases(22.2%),21-30 years old 46 cases(11.6%),31-40 years old 33 cases(8.3%),41-50 years old 26 cases(6.6%),30 cases(7.6%)were 51-60 years old,and46 cases(11.6%)were over 60 years old.2.seizure types: 186 cases(47.0%)of focal onset,169 cases(42.7%)of general onset,41 cases(10.3%)of unknown onset.3.Etiology: 120 cases were structural(30.3%),7 cases were inherited(1.8%),38 cases were infectious(9.6%),4 cases were metabolic(1.0%),13 cases were immune(3.3%),and 235 cases were unknown cases(59.3%).4.There were at least one comorbidity in 206 patients with epilepsy, accounting for 52.0%.5.Drug treatment:274 cases(69.2%)were treated with single drug,98 cases(24.7%)were treated with combination, and 24 cases(6.1%)were not used.Among the monotherapy patients, there were 158(57.7%)traditional AEDs and 116(42.3%)new AEDs.Among the patients with combination medication,59(60.2%)of traditional combination of new AEDs,21(21.4%)of traditional combination of traditional AEDs,and 18(18.4%)of new combination of new AEDs.6.Key performance indicator of epilepsy: The recording rate of seizure frequency is 90.2%;the regular taking rate of AEDs is83.5%;the rate of serious adverse events of AEDs is 1.5%;the completion rate of etiological examinations of patients with epilepsy is 88.9%;The screening rate of psycho-behavioral comorbidities in patients with epilepsy is 33.6%.Conclusion 1.There are more men with epilepsy than women in Inner Mongolia, and more epilepsy patients in urban areas than in rural areas.Childhood is the peak period of epilepsy, and the incidence of middle-aged and elderly people is on the rise.2.In Inner Mongolia, the seizure types of epilepsy patients are mainly of focal onset, with unknown etiology and structural etiology accounting for the highest proportion in the etiology classification.Cerebrovascular disease, central nervous system infection, and craniocerebral trauma account for the top three in patients with a clear cause.3.More than half of patients with epilepsy in Inner Mongolia have at least one comorbid disease, and sleep disorders are the most common.4.Monotherapy is the main medication for patients with epilepsy in Inner Mongolia. The proportion of patients with focal epilepsy who use monotherapy is higher than that of comprehensive and unknown onset.5.Traditional AEDs are the main monotherapy for epilepsy patients in Inner Mongolia, and traditional AEDs are the main combination therapy for epilepsy patients.Valproic acid is the most frequently used AEDs.6.In the key performance indicator of epilepsy in Inner Mongolia, the recording rate of epileptic seizure frequency, the regular taking rate of AEDs,the rate of serious adverse events of AEDs,the completion rate of etiological examinations are well completed, and the screening of mental and behavioral comorbidities in epilepsy patients The completion rate is poor. |
