Effect Of Wenyangbugu Pill On Primary Osteoporosis In Senile Men (Asthenic Splenonephro-Yang Type)

Purpose:In this study,by comparing the changes of syndrome scores and hip bone mineral density before and after treatment,the clinical efficacy of Wenyang Bugu Pill in treating Primary Osteoporosis in Senile Men(POSM)with asthenic splenonephro-yang was observed,and the clinical advantages of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of POSM were discussed.Method:72 cases of POSM patients with asthenic splenonephro-yang type diagnosed in the First Affiliated Hospital of the Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and randomly divided into control group and treatment group,36 cases in each group.All the patients were given calcium and vitamin D supplement treatment,the control group was given Fusamet treatment,and the treatment group was given Wenyang Bugu Pill based on the control group.Both groups were treated for 24 weeks continuously.By comparing the improvement of TCM syndrome score and single symptom score at different stages of treatment,also the changes of hip Bone Mineral Density(BMD),and The MOS 36-item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36)before and after treatment,The clinical efficacy was analyzed and evaluated,and the safety indexes were observed during treatment.Result:1.After 24 weeks of continuous treatment,comparing the TCM syndrome scores of the two groups,the effective rate of the treatment group was 82%,and that of the control group was 56%.The treatment group was more effective in reducing the TCM syndrome scores and significantly better than the control group(P=0.026).2.After 24 weeks of continuous treatment,based on hip BMD,the effective rate of the two groups was 72%in the control group and 79%in the treatment group,but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P=0.5 18).3.After 24 weeks of continuous treatment,the syndrome scores of the two groups decreased significantly(P<0.05).There was significant difference between the treatment group and the control group(P=0.007),and the syndrome score of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group(9.55 ± 3.50 vs 12.48 ± 3.19).4.After 24 weeks of continuous treatment,hip BMD was significantly improved in the treatment group(P=0.012),while the BMD of the control group was not significantly improved(P=0.135).5.After 24 weeks of continuous treatment,both groups showed significant improvement in the physical function,physical pain,general health,vitality,social function,and mental health.Compared with the control group,the two dimensions of physiological function and body pain in the treatment group were significantly different(P=0.026;P=0.031).6.During the treatment period,there were patients in both groups with poor compliance and quit spontaneously,3 cases in the control group and 3 cases in the treatment group;One case in the control group was excluded because it did not meet the inclusion criteria.No serious adverse drug reactions and abnormal safety indexes were found in the two groups.Conclusion:1.Wenyang Bugu Pill can significantly reduce TCM syndrome scores and TCM single symptom scores of POSM patients with asthenic splenonephro-yang,and effectively improve TCM symptoms such as cold pain of low back and knee,fear of coldness and warmth.2.Wenyang Bugu Pill can significantly improve the secondary symptoms of POSM patients with asthenic splenonephro-yang,such as soreness and weakness in waist and knee,hunchback,walking weakness,loose stools,and poor appetite,and supplement the deficiency of Alendronate Sodium Tablets.3.Wenyang Bugu Pill can improve hip BMD in patients of POSM with asthenic splenonephro-yang.4.Wenyang Bugu pill can significantly improve the quality of life of POSM patients with asthenic splenonephro-yang,and the SF-36 score can be significantly improved.
