| Objective:By exploring the correlation between the changes in muscle/fat content and tumor progression in patients with advanced breast cancer by imaging studies,it provides a theoretical basis for clinical intervention as early as possible. Methods:A retrospective study was adopted to screen 22 patients with advanced breast cancer with vertebral metastasis admitted to the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from January 2015 to October 2020.Then collect relevant medical history and imaging data.According to the image data, select one of the first to third lumbar spines(L1-3)to measure the area of vertebral tumor burden(TU),paraspinal muscles(PM),abdominal muscles(AM),subcutaneous fat(SF),and visceral fat(VF),and Pearson correlation coefficient and Spearman correlation coefficient were used to analyze the correlation between the muscle fat area of the same patient at the current time point and the tumor burden at the next time point, and descriptive statistics were performed on 22 patients. Results:Among 22 patients with advanced breast cancer, the correlations are as follows:1.The Pearson correlation coefficient(r)between abdominal muscle area(AM)and next time vertebral tumor burden(TUt+1)is-0.603±0.195,the median value is-0.597,extremely The maximum value is-0.320,the minimum value is-0.948,the Spearman correlation coefficient(ρ)is-0.602±0.228,the median value is-0.571,the maximum value is-0.200,and the minimum value is-1;2.Paraspinal muscle area(PM)and TUt+1 r is 0.103±0.558,median is-0.100,ρis 0.030±0.489,median is-0.100;3.Subcutaneous fat area(SF)and TUt+1 r is-0.002±0.558,median is-0.199,ρis 0.062±0.510,median is 0.300;4.Visceral fat area(VF)and TUt+1 r is-0.142±0.594,median value is 0.189,ρis-0.218±0.579,median value is-0.400.Conclusion:In patients with advanced breast cancer and vertebral metastasis, the overall trend of AM was consistent with that of TU at the level of L2,and the change of AM occurred earlier than that of TU.Therefore, the longitudinal monitoring of muscle loss can select an abdominal muscle group to provide a method for clinicians to judge the progress of advanced breast cancer, the degree of cachexia and prognosis of breast cancer cachexia in the early stage,so that treatment can be carried out earlier. |
